A few days ago, I saw "Wolf Totem" made into a movie. I didn't finish the novel, although I rarely give up halfway.
What makes me curious is that the director turned out to be Jean-Jacques Arnault. Probably it was the grassland and wolves that sparked his curiosity.
He is the same French director who filmed Duras' "The Lover" and also "The Bear's Tale", which I haven't seen.
