As a new work by the director of "The Ninth District", the trailer for "Super Power Chappie" is so deceptive that everyone who doesn't understand it thinks it's a sci-fi blockbuster with the rise of AI. It was not until I watched the film that I realized that this is a cute movie with divergent thinking.

(Spoiler,
spoiler,
spoiler.)

Chappie, the male lead of the film, is a robot with orange bunny ears, and most of the time, he's lying in bed with a pink Barbie in his arms and listening to "Mom" tell stories. Moe pervades the entire film. Wearing a big gold chain, learning to draw, and swearing foul language with "American Boy". Chappie is cute enough, even more cute than the home robot in the movie that looks like Wall-E's heart.

To be able to create such a cute robot, Quan Chappie is no longer just a fighting machine, nor will it be a child in "Artificial Intelligence", it is simply a newborn baby. The film also begins with the infant's enlightenment education.

AI is a hot topic recently, and whether super-intelligence will bring about immortality or extinction of human beings has been discussed in panic. In the movie, the director never thought of discussing this issue while the iron was still hot, but directly chose human nature to be good. Chappie, a newborn baby, is incredibly kind. I don't know how many people were moved when Chappie said the first word "watch", timid, shy and curious, and believed in all good people and things.

Chappie has the "Creator" who created him, as well as his "Dad" and "Mom" - thugs who want to use his abilities to rob.

The creator told him not to listen to other people's ideas, to stay creative and believe that you can do anything.

Mom read to him about Black Sheep, and she said to him, "Black Sheep are not like other sheep, just like Chappie, you are not like us. But that's okay, Mom doesn't think it's your appearance that matters, it's you inside, your heart."

Dad took him into the real world. Naturally, he was bullied, constantly bullied, burned, and even had his arm cut off, but he was kind enough not to resist those who hurt him. All Chappie did was run home and cry with his mother about his grievances, just like us when we were kids. But the world is never a fairy tale. Just like the "Mummy" in "Artificial Intelligence" who abandoned the robot child "David", or the "Moon" who worked hard for most of his life and wanted to return to Earth, only to find that he was just a clone that was about to be destroyed. Chappie has only a few days to live from birth.

For the super artificial intelligence Chappie with a super high IQ, survival is actually not difficult at all. But this process is extremely complicated, accompanied by the pain of "growing up". Maybe in order to survive in this absurd world, we will eventually become the kind of people we hated. Chappie had also made promises and sworn oaths. But when reality came, it was all in vain.

Chappie believed everyone, but everyone deceived him. When the stronger robot was desperate to kill him, he asked in confusion, "Why are you all so cruel." He promised the Creator not to do bad things, and after all, he did almost everything from robbery to murder. He wore a big gold chain, walked hooligan dance steps, and high-fived with street gangsters, because money could buy a new body. After all, the world is controlled by money, as the Coen brothers said in "Shadow Tycoon", "Time controls the world, and time equals money, in the final analysis, money controls the world.

" With pure and beautiful hope. Youth with unlimited vitality, ignorant college students, we who are new to the world are often slapped by reality and can't get up, or successfully turned into the person who slapped you.

Like us, Chappie's utopia disappeared from the day he left home. Unlike us, as a super artificial intelligence, Chappie not only easily saved himself, but also his family.

Perhaps because of the tone of the cute movie, or perhaps the original intention of the director, Chappie chose to forgive at the last moment and became a bunny-eared robot with an innocent appearance and an innocent heart.

As the new work of the director of "District 9", the evaluation of "Super Power Chappie" is not optimistic, with a score of 7.2 on IMDB and a very low score on Rotten Tomatoes. This has something to do with too much science fiction in Hollywood, and it has something to do with the director's arrogance. From the beginning to the end of the film, the thinking is divergent, and even the final big reversal seems abrupt. Those who are familiar with super artificial intelligence know that Chappie's learning process and behavior choices are considered and have a certain logic, but this will not be so suitable for ordinary audiences.

What's more worth mentioning is that the parents in the movie are actually members of the "Answer Band" that became popular in South Africa. It is said that after the director Blomkamp became famous in "District 9", he wanted to find them to act, so he had the script for this film. Maybe just like what the creator said in the movie, don't think about other people's ideas, keep your creativity, do whatever you want to do, that's the life you deserve.

Finally, please don't blame me for spoilers, the real man Wolverine Hugh Jackman didn't appear in the above!
