The bitterest scent

I watched "Perfume" that day, and it was so shocking. In the days after watching it, this feeling not only did not weaken, but became stronger. I felt that I had to write something, although my feelings were not romantic.

For the first three quarters of the fragrance, I watched the "genius + crime" film ignorantly, and it wasn't until the last tens of minutes that I suddenly realized what the film was trying to convey. For the first time, I strongly felt that the education of love is really so important, and it can even be as important as love itself.

Grunoy was abandoned at birth, and although he was mentioned in the film, it is conceivable that he was the object of disgust from a young age. In addition, he has a keen sense of smell that is different from ordinary people, and he is so intoxicated by the talent of "smell" that he does not need to communicate with others, so unfortunately he has never been integrated into society from beginning to end. He could never be said to know nothing about love. He didn't know his feelings about the girl he killed by mistake at first (although it could not be called love), just because the smell was too obvious to him, he only noticed the smell, thinking that it was the smell strongly attracted to himself. Like all little children, he was obsessed with taking the smell for himself, and was in agony when he lost it. During this period of time, on the one hand, he was educated by the Italian master perfumer, and on the other hand, he was very eager because he had lost it, which led to a series of deliberate crimes in the future. It can only be said that he went astray and went crazy .

Arrest is a matter of time, because Grunoy never plots how to deal with the police, he committed a heinous crime, but his heart is pure as a holy land, only a maddening pursuit of the most wonderful fragrance . In the final fantasy, the bottle of perfume made Grunoy a god and an object of worship, but the scent of this perfume never belonged to a paradise of love and peace. The wonderful aroma makes people lose their nature, although they get a moment of ecstasy and happiness, but this happiness is full of restlessness and desire. The perfume that floated to the crowd and sacrificed the girl's life was more like the raging fire of hell. When Laura's father fell at his feet, I even thought Grunoy was Satan. But of course not, Grunoy is not an angel, but he can't become Satan. He has done the most evil things for the most pure and beautiful reasons. And turning him into Satan is obviously not what the director wants to express. Of course Grunoy is still dead, as at the beginning of the film, where he ends up being executed by an angry crowd, even though he was such a genius who produced perhaps the most wonderful perfume in the world. It's just that after watching "Perfume", I really can't get over whether he's a genius - there's no doubt he's a genius, but it only makes him sadder. It was not until the end of his life that Grunoy suddenly realized the existence of something like love from the ecstasy of the crowd in the square, and felt its beauty like waking up from a big dream. Before that, he had nothing but a wealth of smell knowledge in his mind. And all of this is just an illusion of mercy. It would be cruel to say that Grunoy did not understand what love is until he died. In fact, it is precisely because no one has ever taught him the value of life, so whether it is a cat or a person, he will use it to make his beloved perfume without emotion; no one has ever taught him how to love, so originally In his youth, he who should have enjoyed good love, killed one innocent girl after another. - But can you say that he was wrong for all this? He hasn't had the chance to know, and if he had the chance, I'm sure he wouldn't have gone down such a crazy road of self-destruction.

I can't help but think of 1900, who is also a genius and also has incomplete personality, but 1900 is too lucky.
