The world is different than imagined - the iconoclasticity of 'Paul' and 'Teddy'

The world seems to stay the same forever, running regularly, evolving in an orderly fashion, and the occasional little change in life can be exciting. For a long time, people will solidify various impressions in their minds, and live according to such impressions. Fortunately, human beings also have a great function called imagination. It's just that the imagination is often influenced by the real world, well-behaved and trembling. It is a very frustrating thing for people to rely on their imagination and tie their wings to their imaginations. The most effective way to break through the cage of imagination is probably to do the opposite. This is what the movies "Paul" and "Teddy Bear" did.
The alien in "Paul" is the image of the round head and thin body that we see in books, T-shirts and mugs every day, but he is far less cute than the alien in "ET". It's also not as brutal as many masochistic movies, it's like a normal person, speaking English, swearing, and bohemian. The bear toy that spoiled his cute face in "Teddy Bear" is simply Paul's brother. If you think of it as a person, it is no different from a street gangster. It is easy to take drugs and have sex, and it is hidden under its supple skin. With a heart that is not willing to be a pure spokesperson.
However, the audience showed an extremely enthusiastic response to this film with strong psychological contrast and cognitive dislocation. Turning the beautiful into the ugly, and the innocence into the sophistication, is more and more in line with the taste. Among them, there is probably a kind of pleasure of revenge: to make the beautiful dirty, the sublime to the mediocre, the elegant to the vulgar, and then to look at an upside-down world with satisfaction. We used to think the world was too beautiful, but now we have to pull it back below the basic aesthetic level, just to see traditions being overturned, authority being deconstructed, and order being broken.
The imaginary world can be created by us, but the connection with reality is a little difficult. Maybe what we need is not the heroic complex of the little people to turn the tide, but that no matter the big people, the small people or the non-human beings, they can be like ordinary people and be by our side.
