The Conjuring 2 gave me the feeling of inadvertent horror.
After watching The Conjuring 1, I feel that it is a good horror film. There are several good horror scenes, the seductive appearance of the handsome male and female protagonists, and the madness of the witch. Other than that, there is nothing impressive. And from the overall point of view of the film, the elements of witches are relatively far away from the Chinese. The so-called possession of witches is basically nothing except the heroine's face is a little bit grim. Personally, The Conjuring 1 is too mediocre by horror standards.
But The Conjuring 2 is absolutely stunning. The sense of terror has risen more than one level from The Conjuring 2. Maybe the screenwriter has come to his senses?
Even though 2016 was full of excellent horror films, I still think The Conjuring 2 is the best horror film of 2016, bar none.
Let me recall the horror scenes in the film first:
1. At the beginning, the heroine entered the basement, and when the heroine calmly turned back, there appeared 4-5 children's spirits standing side by side, with dull eyes and muttering. He muttered to himself, and then the male protagonist appeared in the corner, said "sorry" to the female protagonist, and was stabbed and killed by the root-like tentacles. . .
2. The daughter of the bitter master was watching TV, but the TV suddenly malfunctioned. The girl stepped forward to tap and play with the TV. Suddenly, from the reflection of the TV, she saw a sluggish and thin old man sitting on the sofa with an angry face. When he turned around, Ben was floating in the air. The remote control also fell to the ground. . .
3. The heroine thinks that the devil drawn by the hero is real, but the devil really came to him. A huge black shadow slowly moved along the wall until it moved into the painting, and the shadow turned around and painted the devil. Completely coincident, the demon in the painting suddenly became hideous and rushed towards the heroine in a frenzied manner. . .
Such scenes have obvious horrors, but the horror scenes appear completely inadvertently without warning, and the scary effect is full.
The rationality of the plot is also much more than the previous one. The characters of the male and female protagonists in the series should be detective-like experts in removing spirits, with certification issued by the church (these two are estimated to be the same thing as Van Helsing). But in the first part, the main task of the male and female protagonists is to exterminate the spirits, and the work of the detectives and their backgrounds are briefly ignored. But in the second part, the plot of the story is more complicated, revolving around the identity of the dark power that disturbed the hostess' family, the male and female protagonists carried out a series of investigations. The whole story has twists and turns, which is very interesting. It appears that the paving is not enough, and it is a bit abrupt.
From Conjuring 1 to Conjuring 2, the bond of family is what he wants to express most. Whether it is the unwillingness of the two single mothers to give up on the child, or the love of the hero and heroine for the child (the heroine would rather give up work in order to avoid harm to the child), the hero and heroine must support each other (in the second part, the heroine is destined to be rescued in the end). The dead male protagonist), and even the bitter master's family in the first part, embodies this connotation. Similar horror films in Europe and the United States are relatively pure in horror. Evil spirits themselves are evil and do not contain anything human. Therefore, although the Conjuring series is a horror film, it can still experience the determination and courage of a family to overcome difficulties together. The selfless giving and care between people is relatively rare in the decaying capitalist society, so after reading it, people can feel full of positive energy.
At the end of the film, it also shows the male protagonist's collection of supernatural objects, as well as Miss Annabelle who is not red or not. This clip is full of easter eggs.
I bet there will be a third part of this movie.
