"Recommend me two good love movies?"

"Well... Then you can look at the "Love Is" trilogy."

Maybe this short conversation is a conversation that happens every time a friend asks me to recommend a romantic movie.

It has been about 30 years since the first chapter of the trilogy, "Love Before Dawn," was released. Countless people have watched these three films countless times in these 30 years, and so have I. I fell in love with it probably from the title, yeah what a beautiful name, love it. With love there is joy, but without love there is no need for pain. Love is something illusory and easy to get. I may not be able to find where the love is, it may be in the past yesterday or in the not-too-distant future, or it may be in the present moment...

Among the trilogy, I prefer "Love at Sunset and Dusk". Although it is as romantic as poetry before dawn, it is full of regret and immaturity. Before midnight came, it had already achieved a positive result, but it was a little skinny and realistic. Sunset and dusk is probably the most ideal state in my eyes, and the enthusiasm of the first sight has dissipated. After a long absence after nine years, there were a few wrinkles on his forehead, her eyes were sunken, he cut her hair short, and she tied her braids, but she could still recognize her in the crowd. The emotion after a long absence is really eloquent. I just watched them chatting all the way from the beginning to the end. It seems that there is not a moment of silence. I enjoy it. It seems that the world is focusing on them. Years of crisis, from you to me to my chat to you.

"You were so brave back then. You just spent a night in Vienna with someone you didn't know. How come you are so intimidated now that you don't dare to love each other generously?"

"You were so romantic back then. You would say all kinds of love words to make me happy. How come you have become so calm and rational now?"

"I got married and had kids. But until the day before my wedding, I was still on your mind, there was no laughter in my family, and my romance and impulse died nine years ago without waiting for you... "

"I've had a lot of boyfriends in nine years, and they've been very nice to me, but I don't have the passion that night anymore. My life was actually pretty good until I read that damn book you wrote. Can no longer be calm, can no longer love others with all my heart..."

I admit that when I saw this, I couldn't hold back my tears anymore. I let the tears flow. We talked and laughed, and I pretended to hide your happiness on the surface. In China, we call all this "once in the middle of the sea"

Sure enough, the scenery seen at sunrise and sunset is different, but they seem to be the same. I seem to love you as much as before.

I missed you nine years ago, the story seems to be over, but if we meet again maybe we will love again, this time more than once more than one night, if we never see each other again, maybe the first time is the end . But if the two loves last for a long time, how can they be in the morning and evening? I love the sunset twilight ending, which ends abruptly at the climax of my watch. I didn't feel a trace of loss, but immersed in thinking. The film has always told us that love is in love, where is love? Oh, it turns out that the love we can't see is right in front of us, it seems to be on the screen and it seems to be right next to me, in the small chat after a long-awaited reunion. Be my Celine, or your Jesse.

I like "Love Is", it's not as vulgar as a sensational movie and has a perfect ending. Because I think what is incomplete is more love. I like "Love Is" because it does not bring sobriety to people like those overly realistic movies, because I see my ideal love. Whether it's the Danube or Notre Dame, I can only see your eyes.

I have changed, the world has changed and even love has changed. It seems that only this movie has not changed. It is still in the purest place, where love is.

It turns out that love has always been in the present tense in the present tense...

Before Sunset quotes

  • Celine: Do I look any different?

    [long pause]

    Celine: I do?

Jesse: I'd have to see you naked.

  • Jesse: In the months leading up to my wedding, I was thinking about you all the time. I mean, even on my way there; I'm in the car, a buddy of mine is driving me downtown and I'm staring out the window, and I think I see you, not far from the church, right? Folding up an umbrella and walking into a deli on the corner of 13th and Broadway. And I thought I was going crazy, but now I think it probably was you.

Celine: I lived on 11th and Broadway.

    Jesse: You see?
