Please wake up love in the afterglow of the sunset.

I just scolded a sadder than sad story a while ago. Because of the typical Korean drama routine, the characters are boring and the plot is outrageous, so I dismiss it.

But some of my friends really liked the story. I guess they either have a belief in the purity of love, or they have glimpsed their own shadow in the protagonist.
They are open-minded and open-minded in their lives, but they are somewhat disappointed in the unreachability of love, remorse for their hesitation and cowardice, or reluctant to part with a love that has come to an abrupt end. So a bad story becomes a fairy tale in the process of self-perception, an inner monologue.

Just like perfume, the same scent always varies from person to person. Because of body odor or temperament. Movies are like that too.

I like Before sunset, because it is rare to find two pragmatic and romantic westerners. They are also implicit about love, and they are also sullen, missed, and tangled. The biggest difference from "Between" is that there is no such procrastination and sultry to spread rumors. The speech of the two protagonists is serious, although there are cramps, hesitations, and regrets, but the grasp is just right.

The male protagonist did not enjoy the happy marriage that outsiders seemed to him, and the tenderness of his first love never dissipated, but he did not bluntly express his expectation of getting back together with her, because of age, family or concerns. His words were full of regrets, his actions were full of nostalgia, his eyes and words spy on others, and he also asked himself.

She was a woman who pretended to be open-minded and easy-going. When she finally couldn't stop crying in the car, he realized that she was gentle and fragile. She remembered everything, but just pretended not to care. However, being subtle is a woman's prerogative, and a man who is interested should take the initiative.

The end of the film left the audience with infinite reverie, like the soft light of the sunset over the Seine, and the soft French lingering in the ears.

Before Sunset quotes

  • Celine: Do I look any different?

    [long pause]

    Celine: I do?

Jesse: I'd have to see you naked.

  • Jesse: In the months leading up to my wedding, I was thinking about you all the time. I mean, even on my way there; I'm in the car, a buddy of mine is driving me downtown and I'm staring out the window, and I think I see you, not far from the church, right? Folding up an umbrella and walking into a deli on the corner of 13th and Broadway. And I thought I was going crazy, but now I think it probably was you.

Celine: I lived on 11th and Broadway.

    Jesse: You see?
