Romance is elsewhere

I've always been wanted to pay a visit to Barcelona, with anyone, at any time.

Since when? I don't quite remember. Maybe it started the first time her name haunted me and melt away, or when the phenomenon masterpieces created by Gaudy appeared in front of my face.

I have been thinking of it, to associate a certain kind of emotion within a landmark, even if I've never been there before. This unreal feeling just caught me off guard in the form of obscurity .

When I encountered this movie, I've got to acknowledge in the first place this is my kind of movie.

Everyone knows his/her taste of movie. They may go to the cinema, pay as much a lunch for a blockbuster, get out, and laugh. The only one thing they don't do is to define them as touched.

What do I mean by touched? That means after this movie I was not planning to put this fake language together, which just came over, screaming out of my head. My mood declared slavery upon it.

It just happened, out of ten fold of great movies ever in history, this one particularly blown me away.

Back from the beginning, With Woody's narration, the two girls get into our sight, more than easy to find out their differences. The BGM hit in the right way, I can't describe it other than 'very Barcelona'. One of the best things about this movie: it revealed a seemingly ridiculous rule --- no matter how great disparities exist in women's sets of value about love, they back to reach an agreement in the end. Judging the same man, Cristina use the word no- bullshit approach and instant liking, while Vicky find him nothing more than an empty desperate sex predator. Ironically, one day later, Vicky was seduced into bed by his hearty frankness, both emotional and brilliant, right after a moving Hispanic guitar recital. She is the girl who always knows what she wants but eventually she lost it. Cristina, on the other side, never knows what she wants, deserts every perfect and balanced belonging, and goes on searching for restless forever.

Intriguing human nature disclosed as the stream of consciousness went on. There is one artistic couple, found the chemistry between without the right way of getting alone with each other. The other, established harmonious on a deficiency of real love. In a normal view, the latter is the only acceptable one in social life. But as we explore the inner world of character, we will find Vicky, after the artist's disappearance, having chosen sense over sensibility by marring a dull but successful young man, is not really leading a happy life; We will understand what lies behind the simple words that Juan commented on his ex-wife who is a gorgeous genius as well as a crazy artist: we are meant for each other but we are not meant for each other; We can distinguish “love” between “in love” throughout Judy's unsuccessful marriage. Relationships are twisted.

The whole film flowed like water. I didn't feel anything strange about it. (Actually why on earth Juan had a crush on Vicky--a conservative lady--is the only thing I'm curious about). normally that's what a poet do. It came out so nature that I was like the director, setting myself as an outsider yet had a vision of all this happened. Within expectation, Vicky is the woman never jump out of her safety cocoon, no matter how suppressed she was in it. After the accidental gun shot, she ran away and didn't allow her subtle affection come out again. Cristina, the catalyst of two insane artists, developed weird fanscination with the couple as well as advanced skills in photographing, then departed, burdened with never-to-be settled mind.

They left the romantic city. Nothing has changed. At least from the appearance.

A guy whom I was in deep affection with disappeared in the city I live in months ago. I'm sure he will find similarities on the hero the film portrayed. His Honor of liberty, His frankness of expression, always reduces me to tears in Someway.

Anyway, love is to be defined. life is elsewhere.
