swan song

Shocked, moved, admired! These are the first few words that popped into my head! Conquered by the Indian philosophy of life and doing things, I know that I have the highest respect for the Indians. When I just read it, I hated the Americans. They deprived the Indians of their homes and implemented a genocide plan. Even Lincoln and Jefferson, who were revered by the Americans, implemented this policy without reservation. I remember that it was said in an American documentary that the survival of the Indians relied heavily on the American bison. In order to reduce the frontal confrontation, the American soldiers who retired from the Civil War went to hunt and kill the bison, so as to achieve the purpose of starving the Indians. The means are really cruel today. Later, my hatred thoughts gradually ceased to prevail, and reason slowly reentered my heart. I say two points.

The first is Indian philosophy. They advocate nature, fear nature, and have faith in their hearts. The most touching thing is about friendship. After watching this movie, I think of a classmate I have known since junior high school, my good buddy, I told him my thoughts today: it tells the story of Indians and white Americans. When the white Americans and the Indians have in-depth contact, they find that if the Indians think you are his friend, it is a lifetime friendship, and they are willing to give everything, even their lives, for their friends! The more precious things are, the more they will be given to friends. I suddenly felt that this core of value is very noble and admired! I just think of you, brother. After so many years, you are still a good brother. You have contributed money and ideas. Friendship for such a long time has stood the test. If we are like the Indians, you believe me and I trust you. This is not a problem. Is the world worth it!

The second is the American spirit. Without courage, this movie would not exist, and there would not be a strong America today. Everyone in history makes mistakes, but it takes a lot of courage to face it head-on, and it has won the consensus of the whole society, which is very rare. It is worth our country to learn!

Briefly explain why the Americans are exterminating the Indians. Personal understanding is the conflict between two civilizations. It is related to survival and value concepts. When two incompatible concepts of discipline collide violently, bloodshed will inevitably occur. However, the social form of the Indians is separated from the whole world tide and backward. Being beaten is inevitable, and their primitive and persistent concept of survival intensifies their revenge. In the end, Victory will stand on the side with advanced technology.

Dances with Wolves quotes

  • John Dunbar: [voice-over] It was hard to know how to feel. I had never been in a battle like this one. This had not been a fight for territory or riches or to make men free. This battle had no ego. It had been fought to preserve the food stores that would see us through winter, to protect the lives of women and children and loved ones only a few feet away. I felt a pride I had never felt before.

  • John Dunbar: How come we haven't seen any buffalo?

Timmons: Can't figure the stinking buffalo. Sometimes you don't see them for days, and sometimes they're out there as thick as curls on a whore.

    John Dunbar: What about Indians?

Timmons: Indians? Goddamn Indians you'd just as soon not see, unless the bastards are dead. They're nothing but thieves and beggars.
