The young David Norris, though only 24 years old, is already a promising candidate for the New York State Senate. In the first campaign, although victory was in sight, he lost because of a newspaper photo of beating others. He was about to promise his supporters that he would run again, and before he was ready to speak, he met the extraordinary Elise Silas in the bathroom, they chatted and kissed in the bathroom. Later they met again on the bus, and Elise, a ballerina, got off after leaving her phone number. When David returned to the campaign office, all the staff were immobilized. He found a group of people in black were brainwashing his campaign assistant, and he was subsequently arrested by the group. It turns out that they are the staff of the "Fate Planning Bureau", wearing top hats can go through a door to another place. They were ordered by the "chairman" to keep David "on the plan" and prevent him from meeting Elise again. They burn the scraps of paper Elise left on the phone and tell David that he is destined to be president and that Elise will also become a world-famous choreographer, but their love will put their future in vain. David knew all this. At first he chose a career, but when he learned that Elise was about to get married, he could no longer control his emotions. He avoided the obstruction of the staff of the Destiny Planning Bureau and found Elise to make him fate was rewritten.
The film is based on the short story "Adjustment Team" by the famous science fiction writer Philip Dick. "Blade Runner" and "Minority Report" are both based on his novels. It's a pity that the screenwriter is a little weak, which makes the film feel anticlimactic. In addition, the dramatic love of the country is more of a love of beauty, such as the ending of Edward VIII's "great love", which is very cliché. I don't quite believe that's how it ended in the original. There is more news that the ending of the film has been changed after the filming, and the original ending will appear in the audio-visual production. Too bad the original ending version was not found.
The overall plot of the film is compact, and the addition of Matt Damon adds dynamic elements. However, at the beginning of the film, Matt Damon's appearance is very much like an ordinary middle-aged American man and a politician. Although the heroine is not beautiful, she is very feminine.
