This film is one of the war films I have seen with a strong appreciation of war~ There are not too many combat special effects of popcorn~ Only strong character and hero shaping~ A must-see war film~ The only thing that makes me dissatisfied is the Lyudmila wrote it in the form of a passerby. It is hateful that he was shot and killed for no reason. It feels like a distorted history. So I have a love-hate relationship with this film. Anyway, Lyudmila and Vasily are in different theaters, different years. It's okay not to shape this picture. I don't know what the director thought. The story takes place during a battle in 1942. During the battle, a soldier with a title met with Basil, who at the time was nothing more than a nobody. They lurk in dead bodies, acting as corpses. The Nazi Party officer who was planning to kill Germany, because the title soldier was not good at sniping, gave the sniper rifle to Vasily, who had been hunting with his grandfather since he was a child. Vasily used the deafening sound of artillery shells to kill the enemies one by one. The operation of running water killed five people at one time, which made the title soldier highly appreciated. As the war continued, a high-ranking officer was dispatched to supervise the war zone. The former officer, who had been repeatedly defeated in battle, was severely pressured, and he was given the ending of suicide by swallowing a gun. The new officer took office three fires, and the officer asked to come up with a way to break the enemy. And the title soldier gave his own way to create a hero like Vasily, and it was inspiring. Soon the title soldier was promoted to chief of staff, and Vasily became a sniper. Vasily was a real inspiration, cheering everywhere he went. The headlines hit the German side, alarming a well-known sniper major, Connie. In this regard, the confrontation between Kony and Vasily spread throughout the entire campaign. Connie's cunning and cunning often outperformed Vasily, costing him a few of his compatriots. Depressed, Vasily went to the chief of staff to ask him to stop modeling and beautifying him, and he felt that he could not win Connie at all. Under pressure from the top, the chief of staff used a local resident's shoe-shining kid to go undercover, betraying Vasily and Connie's whereabouts to lead each other. Vasily fell in love with the little boy's sister, but the chief of staff who had been infatuated for a long time became jealous. After many confrontations, the tired Vasily fell asleep during the war, and the two sides missed the opportunity of confrontation. Vasily's documents were stolen by his compatriot who he thought was dead, who happened to be shot dead. Made Deutschland mistakenly believe that Vasily was dead, and ordered Connie to withdraw, but Connie still didn't believe it and stayed to see. On the other hand, the Soviet Union did not recognize Vasily's death and continued to glorify the hero. Awakened Vasily returned to the headquarters. The child who helped Vasily was seen by Connie and executed, and hung upstairs to provoke his opponent. Vasili's lover, claiming that his brother had successfully deceived his mother by taking refuge in the enemy, thereby causing her to evacuate. But on the way to evacuate, he was hit by a shell~ The chief of staff, who mistook her for death, relayed the news to Vasily, who was still fighting on the front lines. Vasily felt sad, but calm. The guilt chief of staff felt that he was being dragged down by his jealousy and decided to sacrifice himself as bait. Attracted Connie's firepower, leaving it exposed. Vasily successfully killed him ruthlessly~ By 1943, Germany was defeated and retreated again and again, Vasily kept looking for his lover, and the film stopped at the beginning of their face-to-face encounter~

Enemy at the Gates quotes

  • Vassili Zaitsev: On this day, September 20th 1942, a young shepherd boy from the Urals arrived in the city of Stalingrad on the banks of the Volga. His name is Vassilij Zaitzev. Like thousands before him he came to answer comrade Stalin's call. Armed only with a rifle, he quickly made the fascist invader realise that from now on he would be punished for every step he took in the motherland, that from here on the only way was back.

  • Vassili Zaitsev: Shouldn't we try and make the point that I'm not the only one fighting?

Commisar Danilov: That's an excellent idea. We can take it even further though. Your battle for the production of coal is as worthy as mine. There's no 'k' in coal. Just one 'l'. Tell me if I'm going too fast.

Vassili Zaitsev: No, you're not going too fast. Is there any other improvements?

Mother Filipov: Why don't you get some rest? These letters can wait until tomorrow.

Vassili Zaitsev: We should carry on. We're not tired. Thank you, Mrs. Filipov. These people took the trouble to write to us. Tomorrow we might not be around to write back.
