a little afterthought

I like Tom Hanks very much, he is very suitable for this kind of theme movie.

The film is based on the true heroic deeds of the 2009 flight crash. It tells the story of Captain Sully's successful emergency landing to save 155 passengers and crew when the engine failed.

The free use of flashbacks and cross-narrative techniques in the film makes the overall narrative of the film appear logically clear and relaxed. The film did not deliberately create a heroic image of the captain, but just stated the facts. The investigative hearings have continued throughout and are getting better.

Give one more star because of Hanks' acting skills. The flashbacks of the past and the cross-editing of reality are a bit awkward, diluting the tension. Just focus more time on actual conflicts. Wife's family scenes are basically nonsense and have no real effect.

3.5, adapted from the forced landing of US Airways Flight 1549. In fact, the layout is small, but the narrative is calm. Not overly provocative. Tom Hanks is the mainstay of the movie, and the co-pilot played by Aaron Eckhart is also quite pleasantly surprised. I didn't recognize him when I watched it.

Sully quotes

  • Jeff Skiles: [after they've all been brought ashore] I've never been so glad to be in New York.

  • Elizabeth Davis: I'd like to add something on a personal note: I can say with confidence, that after speaking with the rest of the flight crew, with bird experts and airplane engineers, after running all the scenarios and talking to each of the players... there is an X in this result.

Elizabeth Davis: It's you, Captain Sullenberger. Take you out of the equation and the math just fails.

Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger: I disagree. It wasn't just me, it was all of us. Jeff, Donna, Sheila, Doreen. The passengers, rescue workers. Air traffic control, ferry boat crews and scuba cops. We all did it. We survived.
