Probe into the Feasibility Method of Going to the Ideal Land

"Lincoln" is a movie I have little interest in spending the patience to watch.
But I insisted on watching the first 25 minutes, and then I was attracted by the plot and chased to the end of the curtain call. I originally thought that a story that was too familiar to be familiar would no longer have surprises.
However, the thinking implantation of the script and Lewis' performance are still pleasantly surprised. "Lincoln", dressed in the guise of the Civil War, tells a problem that everyone needs to face.
That is to explore the feasible method to the ideal.
This proposition can lead to a thousand or even ten thousand truths.
And this Lincoln, his answer is: a
compass, it can point out where the true north is from your location, but it can't tell you the swamps, deserts and canyons you will encounter along the way.
In the pursuit of the goal, you forge ahead bravely, despite the obstacles. It will only get you into a swamp and get nothing.
What is the use of knowing the true North in this way?

The subtext is that no one can reach the goal in a straight line. So sometimes you need to make some off-track choices based on reality.
Please don't be concerned about the doubts of others, as long as the compass is still in your hands, you will always know the direction you are going.
This is a doer's choice.
Those who dream and refuse to take detours cannot reach their ideal places.

It's all about The 13th Amendment, not in the biographical genre. It's long and bland, it's all about watching the show, and the debate can be a highlight, but it still can't support the whole movie. Coupled with trivial clues such as family and friendship, it always feels that the content is not full. John Williams' soundtrack actually sounds like Thomas Newman, shame for him.

Spielberg is back! (Warhorse really drove me to lose hope.) Textbook film of the history genre.

Lincoln quotes

  • Thaddeus Stevens: You are a democrat. What's the matter with you? Are you wicked?

  • Abraham Lincoln: [pounds his hand on a table as his cabinet squabbles] I can't listen to this anymore. I can't accomplish a goddamn thing of any worth until we cure ourselves of slavery and end this pestilential war! I wonder if any of you or anyone else knows it. I know! I need this! This amendment is that cure! We've stepped out upon the world stage now. Now! With the fate of human dignity in our hands. Blood's been spilled to afford us this moment now! Now! Now! And you grouse so and heckle and dodge about like pettifogging Tammany Hall hucksters!
