•US Film Review US: We Are Americans - Fantastic Dual World and President Reagan's Human Wall (full text is about 1800 words) When I saw the trailer, I thought this movie should be scary, but the result was just the opposite. Although I was indeed horrified by the animal-like behavior of copying when I watched US, in the end, its political satire metaphor and clever plot reversal eliminated my previous helplessness and disillusionment.
A fable under the hood of a horror movie, it will show you clearly from beginning to end. The atmosphere at the beginning of the film and the soundtrack, which is just right and not exaggerated, quickly brings the audience into the plot.
The beginning is about a little black girl who was playing in a playground by the sea on her birthday. Without her father noticing, she walked into a playhouse, where she saw a little girl who was exactly like her.
Then, the little girl grew up. The story timeline has also shifted to the present.
The Wilson family and some friends went to the beach for a holiday when her son met a man in red with blood dripping from his hands and arms outstretched. At night, four red-clothed replicants appeared behind their house, and the four shadows invaded the room, ready to kill them with scissors.
I explain some important bridges and doubts here.
The first: the American people's hand-in-hand political and social activities advocated by President Reagan.
This is an activity to help the poor. Whether it was Reagan's hand-in-hand or the hand-in-hand after the replicators regained the upper world, it was meaningless. How can the economic and social problems brought about by the entire social resources and social security as well as inequality between the rich and the poor be solved through a hand in hand that has no symbolic meaning?
Second, about those shadows.
When Wilson asked what their shadow was, the shadow replied: we are also American. US can be translated as "we" or "American". Therefore, the dual nature of the class change that this film tells about begins here. They are the product of the government's secret cloning experiments. In order to prevent people from knowing and the clones escaping, they transformed the underground into a new world with only some abandoned passages to access. In addition, scientists have also added a fetter system to the experiment, which allows clones to imitate the actions of the original master anytime, anywhere. Just like those rabbits who are born in a cage, they have never believed that they have no soul, they eat raw rabbits with blood, they can't speak like a pack of wild animals, and their movements are blunt. Just like two symmetrical points, only if the original owner subconsciously approaches the replicants, can they meet and be freed from each other.
After some time, the government abandoned the place, and Wilson's clones felt their presence.
Third, two worlds.
Two completely opposite worlds, and they lead different lives. One is rich and happy, the other is cold and terrible. However, there are also class inequalities in the earthly world. There are also differences in social status between the Wilson family and their close friend's family. The hostess' family uses a yacht that is about to be scrapped, while the friend's family uses a full set of IOT smart homes.
The reversal of the plot is within reason and beyond imagination. It turned out that the current Wilson is the replicator. The little girl who broke into the room back then was copied, the little girl who had awakened herself, and was locked underground. That's why Wilson's reaction to the replicants was so great, and the killing was so quick. And the reason why the original owner could speak. After successfully integrating into the upper-class society, even if they sympathize with the lower-class replicators and want to speak in the lower-class language, they will not be accepted. This is the mapping of opposite classes.
When there are opposing classes, there will of course be class circulation. Otherwise, the order of this world will collapse. For example, China's "fair" examinations since ancient times—whether it is the imperial examination for thousands of years or the college entrance examination, which is still dominated by examination-oriented education and selection—are all efforts made by the ruling class to safeguard vested interests. This kind of purpose is the ascent and integration of the bottom-level intellectuals, which can not only offset the devastating blow brought by intellectuals' thinking on society to a large extent, but also use the abilities of intellectuals for my own use, turning opposition forces into support forces , thereby promoting further consolidation and strengthening of rights and interests. However, when Wilson wanted to avoid them, the two of them were drawn further and further apart like a symmetrical point, unable to meet each other, and thus unable to realize the circulation of stratum.
Fourth, dance and transformation.
The black girl trapped in the underground insisted on practicing dance, and was championed by the replicants as a different existence, thus forgetting her identity and leading the underground resistance. The hand-in-hand activity became her only memory on the ground, so that's why she cut a lot of hand-in-hand pieces of paper and was the only person in the underground world who could speak. The Wilson on earth has merged into "heaven", and likewise has forgotten his own pain, abandoned the original class (or rather abandoned the commitment to the original class and self-essential attributes). It is quite ironic that the transformation of the class has led to her indifference and ruthlessness to the people of the original class (a bit like an ordinary person who was promoted to a Nazi officer who ruthlessly killed his original companions and the villagers around him).
This terrifying difference in identity cognition has created disdain and disgust for the original class, and the subversion of inherent cognition and inherent positioning has created this in the movie.
Finally, add one, which is the fifth, handcuffs and a little boy.
The handcuffs that Wilson handcuffed the real original owner back then became the one that the underground original owner now handcuffs out of Wilson. In the final battle of life and death, Wilson killed the original owner and let out his own beast-like roar, but the handcuffs were miraculously untied.
After the little boy made his clone imitate him and jumped into the fire through his own wisdom, he was taken away by the original owner. In the end, after Wilson killed the original owner, he easily found his son in the locker behind him. It could be seen from the little boy's expression and actions that he knew Wilson's secret.
This is my shallow understanding, please correct me.
