Not suitable for children

Some fairy tales are not for children, such as "The Daughter of the Sea"; some animations are not, such as "Zombie Bride".

Just hearing the name is scary enough, plus the film's gloomy and eerie set and dark tones, if it weren't for Tim Burton, I would have given up from the beginning.

The characters in the film are not my type, not pretty, not pretty at all. Exaggerated body and face, big eyes with small pupils, terrifying zombies and dead bones. When Victor met Emily, I was terrified.

The whole story and the tone of the film are full of the atmosphere of nineteenth-century English novels. Infatuated girls, run-down nobles, upstarts who want to get into the upper class, insidious liars, ruthless priests, simple youths.

She gave her life for love, she waited for love, even if she had become a zombie. However, the person who was waiting didn't belong to her after all. She finally understood, and finally let go, turned into a butterfly, and left gracefully. She is sometimes innocent, sometimes sad, sometimes gentle, and when she comes to UPSTAIRS, when she dances lightly in the moonlight, she is so beautiful that it makes people feel distressed.

TIM BURTON is TIM BURTON, the combination of gloom and tenderness, darkness and beauty is so perfect that people can't stop.

It's just that I'm afraid of zombies, even kind and lovely ones. Will I have nightmares tonight?

Corpse Bride quotes

  • Maggot: If I hadn't just been sitting in it, I would say that you'd lost your mind!

  • Victor Van Dort: But I don't even know your name.

Maggot: [from inside the Corpse Bride's head] Well, that's a great way to start a marriage.

The Corpse Bride: [grasps head and hisses] Sshh! Shut up!

    [smiles at Victor]

    The Corpse Bride: It's Emily.
