"Vanilla Sky" is an old film many years ago, remade from the Spanish film "Open Your Eyes". The film begins with a dream and ends with a waking up. The protagonist was originally a handsome and prosperous young man, but his ex-girlfriend's revenge caused his appearance to be completely ruined, and he was afflicted with illness.
The film has two major points, one, a dream within a dream. When Tom in prison painfully recalled everything in the past, it was easy for the audience to think that this was a memoir and tell the audience to cherish the present. But when the spectators followed the protagonist's memory recovery and gradually doubted their surroundings, they realized that something was wrong! finally reveal the truth. The protagonist has been trapped in his own dream, so everything that happened is fake. Dream and reality, fantasy and reality. Is everything in the dream real, or is it real after waking up?
Second, the true meaning of life. There are many classic lines in the film. 1. "Only when you have been sad can you appreciate the beauty of love." Only when you have experienced hardships can you understand that happiness does not come easily. Human life is long and short. I have never tasted bittersweet, just like making coffee with warm water, it is always a little bit worse. 2. "What is happiness to you?" Happiness is a passive verb. We are not happy for no reason. We are happy because of one thing, one person, one word. What is happiness to us? It is an attitude to life, a way of life that actively faces life and treats people with kindness. 3. "We will all be cats in the next life. Goodbye!" Cats give people a feeling of elegance and freedom, which symbolizes the quality of life and unrestrained life.
