Father and son, gangsters are just the tip of the iceberg.

I looked at the reviews and found that only a few people understood the movie.
With the help of the theme of gangsters, the film reflects the subtle interpersonal relationships and the connection between the personalities and destiny of various characters. Family affection, gangs, and the interest chain of the whole society restrict each other; there is sinister lurking in the scenery, and warmth hides in the indifference.
The film expresses rich connotations with minimal characters and brief and representative plots, those who say that the film is not compact, those who only see the acting skills of the actors but not the thinking behind the whole film, and even those who only watch To the actor's appearance, it is really worth pondering.

Michael Sullivan, Jr.: I saw then that my father's only fear was that his son would follow the same road. And that was the last time I ever held a gun. People always thought I grew up on a farm. And I guess, in a way, I did. But I lived a lifetime before that, in those six weeks on the road in the winter of 1931.
