I watched Manhattan first and then Annie Hall. These are two fresh grapes with the classic Woody Allen stamp. Consistent contempt for posturing intellectuals; disdain for the intelligence of liberal arts girls on the west side of Central Park mixed with cravings for young girls' bodies; always eager for eggs to swim forward like sharks forever. One of the most greasy things about Lao Wenqing is that he likes to shape the spiritual world and aesthetic taste of little girls, and his motivation does not come from kindness and compassion. The joy comes first, and after the sun shines, I hope to talk about life and death and art debate. From a Wisconsin drag girl to a Manhattan high school student, narcissism is Alvy and Isaac's compliment to New York. Woody Allen makes you feel wacky, but it's hard to make you feel great. Yet some artists don't need greatness, they are excellent chroniclers of their time and city, and they sing eternal eulogies of fleeting moments that cannot last.
