The first movie of 2018.
At the beginning of the movie, lady bird and her mother are sitting in the car, immersed in the sadness caused by the stories (or poems?) on the radio. In the accusation, lady bird angrily opened the door and jumped out of the moving car. At this moment, I knew I was going to love this movie for sure.
Sure enough, I was not disappointed.
The standard plot of youth films, the ordinary protagonist, has a gorgeous dream. She yearns for a bright and bright city, likes good-looking boys, and will decorate the small room to the fullest. She will prepare dresses for the audition of the school musical, and she even gave herself a new name—lady bird. Yes, she is a bird, a bird impatient to get out of her cage to take a look at this prosperous world.
She is a liar, whether it's vain or flattering, but nothing in lady bird's mouth seems to be true; However, she who lied a lot was just trying to play herself in her heart; she who jumped out of the car on impulse could also be so gentle that she lent her shoulders to her gay ex-boyfriend who cheated on her and cried.
The mother-daughter relationship in the movie also moved me very much. They have the same heart but are very stubborn, love each other deeply but hurt each other. The contradiction between relatives actually only needs one party to bow his head a little, and everything will be resolved, but unfortunately, no one is willing to open this head.
At the end of the movie, the heroine regained the name given by her parents, called her mother to reconcile, and found out that she was in the city of her dreams, but she missed the hometown that made her struggle to break free.
You can be the lady bird in your heart, but don't forget that you are Christina too.
