When I started watching "Lady Bird" a while ago, I watched it with the heart of seeing other people's youth. After watching the whole film, I realized that I was watching it.

Miss Bird was originally called Christine. She has average appearance, average grades, and a normal family, but she still retains a heart that is unwilling to be ordinary.

She is rebellious, she is crazy, she is vain, he has strong self-esteem, loves to be funny, likes to make fun of others... All kinds of behaviors that seem childish and ridiculous in the eyes of adults, aren't they just what we were when we were young?

Christine has a mother who cares about her very much. From choosing colleges to choosing clothes, she helps her make decisions, no matter how big or small. She has struggled and resisted, but in her upright youth, her parents were overwhelmed. Pampering made her kidnapped by her family, so she named herself Lady Bird, eager to grow up quickly and fly freely like a bird.

It's been a while since I last watched "Lady Bird" in front of the screen, but Lady Bird is everywhere in my life. In our upright youth, we are in a state of direct wandering between family affection and self. Many Chinese parents hope that their children will do everything according to their own wishes, and have never seriously considered their children's ideas.

When children make a decision that goes against their ideas, they will tell you that it is "wrong" in a weather-beaten tone, and emotionally kidnap the child's choice with the sentence "It's all for your own good". When the child really grows up, he starts to nag that the child has no opinion. It would be ridiculous if it was all the fault of the child.

Lady Bird represents individuality and freedom. She longs to be bound by her parents. When it comes to choosing a university, she is dissatisfied with her mother helping her choose a good school. She resists by jumping; facing strangers, she dares to tell her dreams. When she met the person she loved, she resolutely chased after her; she didn't want to wait in line to go to the toilet, she didn't hesitate to open the door of the men's toilet... She lived a life that most people dare not live.

Youth like this, inevitably makes people feel crazy.

But youth is so, why not crazy?

May there be a Miss Bird in everyone's heart.

Lady Bird quotes

  • Larry McPherson: Hey, I'm like Keith Richards. I'm just happy to be anywhere.

  • Diana Greenway: I heard that before he became a priest, he was married, and had a son named Etienne, who died at 17 of a drug overdose, which maybe was a suicide. But my mom says same difference, if you're that careless with your life.
