Ridley Scott made Robin Hood an epic, an epic that feels completely foreign. Although the scene is grand, the story is wonderful, and the soundtrack is magnificent, this is "Braveheart", "King Arthur", "Kingdom of Heaven"... This is not the Robin Hood I am familiar with. A minute before the end of the movie, I finally saw the Robin Hood who was singing and drinking in the forest and by the bonfire. This movie should be called "Robin Hood Prequels".
The epic movies in recent years have formed a commercialized routine or model - an unknown person has been helped by a noble person in a process full of coincidences. At this time, the villain will appear, and the villain will launch a War, showing all the qualities a hero should have in the last battle, our little people have become heroes, and the hero will naturally be a beauty at the end of the film. This model has even been developed to the point where "pre-war mobilization" is like a mold, nothing more than encouraging soldiers or people to be full of courage in a provocative way, to fight for freedom and survival, and so on.
But the expectations for "Robin Hood" were too high before. I trusted Ridley Scott very much. I always believed that he could make a movie with Scottish style. It's a pity that the film made me so much Somewhat disappointed. It is undeniable that the epic movie style did come out, but the style of the Robin Hood story was lost.
Can only look forward to the next Scott movie.
