be honest with yourself

It's not a movie review, it's just a little bit of my own experience of watching the movie.
Finally, when the lights in the bedroom were turned off, the film was buffered, and I finally finished watching it at twelve o'clock. During this period of time, I actually slept more regularly, and I stayed up all night for this film that I haven't seen for a long time.
What attracted me to this film was not the label of martial arts action films, not Uncle Fa and Xiao Zhang, nor the Oscar winner, but in fact it was because I liked Ang Lee. Because I like it, I am curious, so I want to know what else he will shoot.
There are no surprises in this movie. Personally, I think this is a heavy martial arts action film. Others told me that this film was made for foreigners to watch. After thinking about it, maybe, it won the best foreign language film that year. Then I thought, maybe Ang Lee is introducing foreigners to China's extensive and profound kung fu culture. The whole movie has been playing from start to finish. In women's singles, what I admire most is Michelle Yeoh and Zhang Ziyi's ability to fly over the eaves and walls. In the few scenes in which Uncle Fa faced Zhang Ziyi, he took on the move with one hand. At first glance, it is a master senior in the arena. Uncle Fa was photographed with the wind on a tree, and he was extraordinarily unrestrained. Swordsmanship is like calligraphy, flowing like clouds and flowing water, smooth and natural. Zhang Ziyi fights against people in the building, and her gestures are very beautiful, which reminds me of "The Grand Master", which is also a martial arts film, which has recently won more than a dozen Hong Kong Film Awards. I don't have much experience watching martial arts movies. When I watched "The Grandmaster" last year, except for the visual aesthetics that really shocked me a little, I really couldn't find anything else to praise. At that time, the propaganda poster of Zhang Ziyi of "The Grandmaster" was specially printed out. It just feels so beautiful, so beautiful that you think you have to collect one by yourself. For example, when you see a particularly delicious food, there is a way of expressing it that you like to look at it a few more times and forget it the next day. Another way of expressing my liking is for me to pay what I have left over to taste it for myself. At that time, the feeling that I saw that poster was the latter way of liking.
As far as I feel, the rivers and lakes of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon often face a dilemma. Li Mubai and Yu Xiulian, a couple who have loved each other for many years, neither of them expressed their intentions until they parted ways. It's not that the two of them are timid people, but to be able to afford the word "righteousness" in the rivers and lakes. Li Mubai's rival in love saved him and died, so in his opinion, being with Yu Xiulian again would be injustice. The love between Yu Jiaolong and Luo Xiaohu also faces a dilemma. Whether to choose to stay in the desert or to return to the capital; whether to choose to stay with Luo Xiaohu or to return to his parents; whether to choose love or family affection; whether to choose "filial piety" or to choose "all love". Yu Jiaolong was originally from a bannerman, and he may have just entered the Central Plains, and he has an untamed "savage" and fierceness. From the age of ten, he followed the blue-eyed fox to practice martial arts. The talent is abnormal, but he has not experienced the essence of kung fu, let alone the spirit of "martial arts". She acts willful and even unreasonable. This character may have something to do with the way her parents were raised. In the film, Yu Jiaolong himself told that his marriage with the Lu family was only good for his father's interests. She is in a situation of being used, so it is difficult to believe that other people are sincere to her, so after Yu Xiulian helped her many times, she still said something like "I have no real friends in the first place". However, the nature of Yu Jiaolong is not bad, but it has not been domesticated, which is actually a puzzle or misinterpretation of the spirit of martial arts. She showed her yearning for the rivers and lakes since she was a child, but unfortunately she entered the teacher's door by mistake and followed the cruel and vicious blue-eyed fox. Therefore, she only learned the fur of "wu", but failed to understand the meaning of the word "xia". Since ancient times, Chinese culture has emphasized both ability and political integrity, emphasizing both, and emphasizing integrity. "Wu Xia" as a whole, also "Xia" and "Wu" cannot be separated. On this point, Luo Xiaohu, who is also a foreign nationality, is slightly better than Yu Jiaolong. Although Luo Xiaohu is a robber in the desert, he reprimands his subordinates for not touching women to be "reasonable", and taking care of Yu Jiaolong shows some tenderness of a man. When Yu Jiaolong's father came to look for her, he didn't force Yu Jiaolong to stay, but reasoned: "If we have a daughter in the future, our daughter will miss us when she leaves us." In the dilemma between "filial piety" and "love", Luo Xiaohu chose "filial piety" to fulfill Yu Jiaolong, even if he was reluctant. At this time, Luo Xiaohu was obviously more "Martial Man" than Yu Jiaolong. Fortunately, under the guidance and teaching of Li Mubai, Yu Jiaolong finally distinguished between friends and enemies, and also realized the spiritual sublimation from "wu" to "xia" in the last jump of the film - it's done. "Xiao", it's all over again "Love". Hey, I feel that the false name of "Xia" is really not that easy to achieve, and there must be an atmosphere of killing one's own life and taking justice. Suddenly there is a little more awe of "Martial Arts". A few people can do it, but Li Mubai in the film did it.
When I watch movies now, I actually pay much attention to the visual and auditory sensations. Take this film as an example, the first half of the picture quality is pale and infiltrated with yellow tones, giving it an old-fashioned feeling, like watching an old documentary. The costumes and makeup of the characters are very Manchu style in the late Qing Dynasty. I feel that Li An has always been very delicate in this regard. I also like the way of restoring the past as authentically as possible, feeling that we can understand the living conditions of people many years ago, and this is also preserving the history and culture in another form. The background music effect of a movie is also very important. I listened carefully to the music of several martial arts. In the first few paragraphs, traditional musical instruments were used. The drums were sometimes loud and sometimes small, sometimes urgent and sometimes slow. The rhythm of the music also matched the rhythm of martial arts, which set off the tense atmosphere and aroused the excitement of the audience. A melody of a Western instrument that I used later, a little sad and nice.

In order not to let other people's film reviews affect my judgment of this movie, I deliberately did not go to the film reviews. After I finished writing, I went to see the most advanced film review. There is an article that seems to be "Li Mubai's Erotic World". Many people replied, most of them agreed with the landlord's views, and some people objected. Personally, I disapprove. If Li Mubai's lust is directed at Yu Xiulian, I agree. But it feels a bit incomprehensible that the landlord is far-fetched to involve Yu Jiaolong. I have watched a few Ang Lee films, and I think Ang Lee is particularly good at expressing "moderation", the moderation of the character's emotions, and the moderation of the ending. Like this "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". The line that impressed me the most was what Yu Xiulian said to Yu Jiaolong: No matter what, treat yourself with sincerity. Before thinking about it, I didn't understand the meaning of this sentence. Li Mubai initially chose to use the Taoist "void" to cultivate himself, but he gradually found that he still had something in his heart that he couldn't let go. What is this thing? I think it is the feelings for Yu Xiulian that have been suppressed for many years. To treat yourself sincerely, you must first know yourself and face up to the desires in your heart. Every human being has weaknesses, nothing more than greed, hatred, ignorance, and resentment. Many years ago, I really longed for the Taoist way of life of tranquility and inaction, and it was only because I had little experience at that time. After so many years have passed, I have experienced a little bit of human affairs, and I have a little understanding of myself and human nature, I now feel that it is simply an unattainable state. It seems that everyone has a yearning for an ideal personality in their hearts, but they often cannot get rid of this worldly stinky skin. Always laughter that self is a huge abyss, too many contradictions and paradoxes in one. I remember the teacher who taught me in the past told us that we would rather be a "real villain" than a "hypocrite". At that time, I was still a little uncomfortable, thinking why not pursue a "true gentleman"? Now I can understand it. I went from rejection to slowly being able to face up to, admit, and accept the desires of human nature. I think "desire" is as natural as sunshine, rain and grass. As long as one learns to control, there is no difference between beauty and ugliness. I used to think that the days of my childhood were very hard, but now I think about it, I would like to thank those years, that free time, which gave me the deepest love for freedom and truth. I'd rather accept the not-so-beautiful face of the "true" than to perfunctory myself with "false" fantasies. In fact, Ang Lee's attitude can also be seen from the ending of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". The more suppressed the desire, the stronger it will be. Li An actually indirectly denied the nihilistic way of life of Taoism.
The human heart is also crouching, no matter what, we should learn to treat ourselves like a real city. What does it mean to treat yourself sincerely, that is, to know yourself clearly, to admit your desires, and to admit that human nature has a lot to be improved. At the same time, learning to moderate moderation and pursuing a lifestyle that you really like is not a kind of sincerity to be responsible for your life.

Ang Lee is worthy of being Ang Lee, and can be used as a collection of classic martial arts films.
