I don't know why I won the Golden Globe Award

The film won the Golden Globe Award for Best Picture in a Drama Series.

Don't know what the criteria for the Golden Globes judges are?

As an ordinary audience, I can't think of the reason why it won the award.

With the theme of spying on the distortion and darkness of human nature, with the tone of depression, gray and pale, it seems quite niche and literary, and it is not far from winning.

A good film may be poignant, thrilling, thought-provoking, or emotional...

But it is difficult for me to sum up an obvious advantage for this film. Instead, I feel that the narrative is not clear enough, the structure is unreasonable, and there is no suspense. Nothing to think about.

The story is laid out according to the background, the moment when briony made a perjury mistake, the tragedy of sister cecelia and sister's boyfriend robbie caused by this mistake, and the main line of briony's repentance and redemption.

The background laying process is too long, and it takes more than 20 minutes to understand.

Two scenes and a letter that Briony saw were the reason for her perjury. Among them, the narrative method of comparing two clips of briony's misunderstanding and real scene playback is used one after another. Although this method is relatively new, it lacks the commonly used suspense of knowing the whole story at a certain moment. And in the end I don't understand the reason for her perjury, because she clearly likes robbie, why does perjury send him to prison as a sexual predator, and then use the pretext of a stupid mistake when she was young Nor can it explain the fundamental disobedience to human nature. This is the only climax in the film.

Telling the tragedy, the original intention of the screenwriter was to use the war to highlight the cruelty of this tragedy through robbie who had to go to war because of his imprisonment. But in my opinion, the effect is counterproductive. When the vast majority of people are suffering from the fear and suffering of war, small personal tragedies have long been buried in it. And this part is extremely protracted, especially the part where robbie played on the beach waiting for the big retreat for a full 20 minutes. Some characters and plots are added for which I don't know why, such as robbie's comrades in arms, such as dying in the hospital French soldier.

Briony's repentance and redemption have accompanied her almost all her life. She thought that briony when she was old would show a penetration of human nature, but in the end it was really disappointing. She was always the sensitive, neurotic, and shrunken little girl in a shell. . Robbie is dead, cecelia is dead, and finally failed to meet again, and briony finally failed to atone for them. But briony gave them a warm and happy ending in his novel. The explanation for this was "I gave them the happiness". When I heard this sentence, my first thought was "this is so ridiculous" , Briony seeks only peace of mind with a false comfort. I don't know why the screenwriter finally gave such a low-key ending.

The role of Briony used three actors to show her 13-year-old, 18-year-old and old moments, and it was a bit ridiculous to use the same clear soup noodles as a consistency mark.
