A few years ago, when I went to ktv and just sat and listened to others singing, the only thing I wanted to try when no one was there was the sound of silence. After a few years, I was addicted to the Scaborough fair and even grabbed the order from female classmates. This song sings, I think she annoys me hahahaha. To be honest, I'm also shocked that I haven't actually seen it until now.
At the same age of 20, I graduated only two years later than Ben. Is this a love story? I don't think so. America in the 1960s was a turbulent society, especially for graduates at countless forks in their lives.
The film tells the story of a teenager who was overwhelmed after graduating from college with outstanding grades and experience, surrounded by encouragement and praise but did not understand, only when he was underwater can he get a moment of tranquility. Despite knowing at the outset that he didn't want what he wanted, he was tempted to indulge himself in physical relationships for months at a time, with the need for satisfaction and self-esteem. After being arranged by his parents to go on a date with Elaine, he is easily seduced by a younger and more beautiful daughter, but it is worth mentioning that he has changed from a docile student at a friend's party to a boy who can drive all the way to the nightclub. .
Of course, a conflict arose, Elaine moved out, and Ben fell into a brief confusion again, and then he made a decision to follow his "heart", desperately looking for Elaine to marry her. When everyone was against blocking him, he became more and more crazy and reckless, insisting on his own choice (I laughed out loud when punching the old man), and finally the reason why Elaine rushed to him at the wedding scene I think it was because everyone was against and cursing him, which in the eyes of the youth was enough to turn a nasty spoiler into a hero who saved the beauty, so she followed him all the way to the bus.
Sitting in the last row of the bus, after spitting out the chaotic breath of running, Elaine looked at Ben with a happy face, but his expression gradually became numb and looked forward. He knew that it was all over here, and that it had only just begun, and he would fall into endless confusion again.
Silence sounded.
The montage of the film is very good, the use of the camera can be said to be the pinnacle when he is immersed in the physical relationship, the only shot I personally don't like is when Ben tells Elaine about the relationship with her mother and is driven into the corridor to Mrs. Robinson's shot from far to near is a little too fast, but I have to say that this shot gives a very clear sense of horror.
The soundtrack doesn't need to be said much, I finally thought of the option to return to this song. By the way, this is the first pure English listening movie I have watched, and I hope I can watch all English movies easily and without barriers in the future.
