As a fan of magical works, whether it is a film or a literary work, as long as it is related to the magical setting, I am willing to contact. Among the many magical works, the point that attracts me the most is that the screenwriter (or author) has a specific plot that may occur in the magical world and can reflect their whimsy. In short, it is different from other movies. the plot or setting .
Vampires, werewolves and witches are some of the most well-known races in Western fantasy . In most of the works, human beings are a stick that stirs the muddy waters, turning the intricate population relationships in the magical world upside down, breaking all kinds of conventional habits, and some have left a legendary story, and some have become a magical world. A nightmare in. The creation of such themes has a long history, and how to make old themes write new stories is a big challenge for today's creators.
That's what surprised me the most about Stardust. To construct a work that is easily immersed in the audience requires nuanced envisioning of everything that is possible in the world. This may include clothing, language, food, cultural customs, historical events, etc. The more detailed it is, the more immersive it can be. But it's not easy to do this in just two hours, and it's just an independent film, not like the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy can build a magnificent and huge in nearly ten hours The world view, so only some very representative things can be selected to create the atmosphere of the magical world. In "Stardust", witches account for a large part of the scene, in addition to many innovations, the most attractive to me is the " mine hunter " profession. Taking a big boat, not driving on the sea, but shuttling in the clouds, two large nets are opened on both sides of the hull to catch the strange thunder and lightning generated in the dark clouds in the pouring rain. This setting has given me a lot of inspiration. If there can be a mine catcher, why can’t there be a cloud catcher, rain catcher, snow catcher, fog catcher... The idea of that can trigger other people's inspiration is rare, and this setting alone can develop There are many new stories, so it makes me feel like I have found a treasure.
In addition, there are more wonderful settings in the film: the meteor will fall into the world and become a beautiful woman (the girl named Ivana in the film); the witch eats the heart of the meteor to regain her youthful face; The quickest way to get somewhere is by light (light a Babylonian candle, think where you want to go, and the light will send you there); in the "place of the storm", the dead princes will remain in the world as ghosts , until the new king is crowned to really leave the world; a stone wall separates the human world from the magical world... It's these different things that make me deeply immersed in the film.
Another setting that impressed me is related to the title: when meteors feel happy, satisfied and happy, they will shine brightly. And what can make the witches young again is Ivana's glowing heart (the heart that is removed when the meteor is alive and happy works best, and the witches can become young by eating the heart). But if Meteor is willing to dedicate his whole heart to someone, then that person will be immortalized just like the stars. So how can she give her heart willingly? The answer is, love.
Even though the theme of "love" is used in various works, it has almost become one of the worst routines in film and television works, but it still can't stop me from being moved by Ivana's love. The stars shine with love, become shining, and become her most beautiful appearance. It is precisely because of this that she can't hide her happiness in front of her lover, and her joys, sorrows and sorrows are clear at a glance. How beautiful is this innocent and unconcealed love. There are not so many twists and turns, and you can see through other people's minds at a glance. That's probably why I like to watch a kid's movie or two every now and then, because the emotions in these kinds of movies always develop in the best direction: the unreserved love between lovers, even if it is ambiguous. At this stage, the whole world will help them come together; a mother's love for her child will never be lost, even if they haven't seen each other for more than ten years; His loyalty... Compared with the artistically processed movie plot, everything in reality is extremely complicated, sometimes even thousands of times more absurd and bizarre than the movie plot. Still, we're still human beings living in the real world in the end, aren't we? All I can do is to draw strength from various works, turn around and face the human feelings of the real society.
"Stardust" is a movie that surprised me. Originally, I just wanted to pick a movie with a magical theme for entertainment, but I didn't expect it to bring me a different journey to another world. I would like to believe that the plot in the movie is really staged in a certain parallel universe, and there is also a star in the night sky who also lives happily with her lover forever.
