The same thing about high-quality science fiction films is that they try to explore human nature

The end of science is to discuss belief, the deepest part of the human heart and the two things that seem to be incompatible above the universe, and finally they are the same thing. The shocking visual at the beginning of the film extends to the end of the universe, already telling us that there is an ultimate belief looming above all things. Whether it's God or the "them" that the Vega civilization says - something left behind by a civilization above another, or just the belief in our hearts, our curiosity, we have constructed an ultimate power in our hearts that may not necessarily exist. It prompts us to believe, to seek, to explore. We are trying to discover the unknown in our hearts, the unknown existence in the universe. Some of the six billion people on earth believe in religion and some believe in science, but there is no essential difference between exploring people's hearts and exploring the universe. It's just that people need a belief in their hearts to rely on. It doesn't really matter whether it is religion or science. Curiosity, unknown and foresight are the driving force behind our common pursuit.
Although we don't know what will happen when the speed of light is reached, we also don't know what will happen to the human world after reaching Vega. Even when science is falsified and beliefs collapse at that moment, we are still driven by the irrepressible curiosity of human beings to take risks.
The movie is too right, the universe is so big, if there are only human beings, it would be a waste of space.
