The 'Collision' of Science, Philosophy, Faith and Reality

This movie is very ideological! The whole drama revolves around the "collision" of science, philosophy, belief and reality! It tells us to learn to explore and accept all the possibilities of this unknown world! There is a dialogue between the hero and heroine that is simple but wonderful, The Lord said how can you prove that there is a God in the world? How can the male lead refute you to prove that you love your father? This also paved the way for the final heroine to be questioned by everyone because she had no evidence to go to the wormhole! In the end, she understood it herself, no longer resisted, and accepted. When science can't accept things without evidence, faith accepts it, the male lead believes in the female lead, and those who have faith choose to believe in the female lead!

As a person who still seriously considers the possibility of becoming an astronomer, although he is extremely impatient with Zemeckis-style Hollywood goods, most of it can still evoke a little emotional resonance. It can be seen that Carl Sagan's original work must be very ambitious. It is hard to say that the film has made depth. Of course, this is a very alternative science fiction film or even a literary film. It is indeed not easy to make a good one. Hollywood's orthodox production methods in the 90s were really boring.

The beauty of the universe is astonishing, and the atheist must be given a star!

  • Richard Rank: My coalition's phone lines have been flooded with calls from concerned families, wondering if this message signifies the end of the world or the advent of the rapture. We feel that U.S. policy in this matter wants to be extremely conservative - if there's any chance of danger or threat to our way of life perhaps the message and its contents should simply be disregarded.

  • News Reporters: Reverend Joss! Reverend Joss, what do you believe? What do you believe?

Palmer Joss: [pause] As a person of faith I'm bound by a different covenant than Doctor Arroway. But our goal is one and the same: the pursuit of Truth. I for one believe her.
