Here comes the point of ranting → Po: "yes! We are talking about the same night, right??" Yes! ...we're talking about the same night, right?
I still remember reading someone's article about the widespread use of "that" in my country, it didn't amuse me.
We talk to people about things, or gossip [I think this is the norm], we often say "that person", "that thing", "yes, that's that"... and so on.
In fact, no one knows whether the other party understands "that" refers to "where" -
this is called a language that is learned and used. .
