The tragedy of fate

It reminds me of Memento, and it reminds me of Time Planning Bureau. The director must be a fatalist. John's unpredictable obedience to fate, this obedience is not the coward's resignation, nor the strong man's convincing, but a fool who is played with applause and tragedy. He didn't even think about the options in his hands at all, and when fate came to him, it was like walking towards a jar of honey, he didn't hesitate or struggle.
There must be a hint. The fire-scorched face at the beginning of the movie, the time machine that was turned on in a panic, the eyes and sighs when lying in bed after surgery, told me that this was a loser. He must be some kind of fool who wasn't smart enough to be fooled by organization, fate and script, and finally killed his old self arrogantly and blindly.
He carried away his newborn self and brought his infant self back to the orphanage. The swollen obsession in front of the hospital window was to catch the murderer. Yes, he has said it himself, maybe there is no love, but there is a goal of survival. There was once a person who marked "Animal Farm" like this, "Being awake is the only way to avoid being caught." And John's fate deserves this sentence.

We should not be interrupted by any obsession. When a consciousness has become the starting point for everything you do, when you are not thinking or even full of will, even if this consciousness is love, the meaning of living, survival, and hope— It can only turn into tragedy.

"Remain awake so that you won't be caught."

The sad little girl, Jane, who fell into the wrong path because of the sudden appearance of a handsome man, struggled, hated and resented. Complaining about his appearance, complaining that things are unpredictable, and complaining about the bumpy road. But when she found out that the source of all her tragedies was herself, where should this hatred go?
If he can stop this love, hesitate, and make a way out for himself when he sends him to her, maybe John will no longer be John, and Jane will still be Jane. She may still be found by the organization, but the difference is that she may not rush to a tragedy for this sustenance. It is possible for her to meet a lover, to experience dangers in life, to think, and to escape this alchemical fate.
Orpheusian tragedy.

The aesthetic definition of tragedy means that the protagonist is not controlled by his own ideas, and due to the different positions, angles and starting points of the characters and the two sides of the incident, the irreconcilable contradictions of the incident and the irreversible conflicts of external forces are caused.
Osamu Dazai is, but he is not.
