A movie that has been on the hard drive for a long time. When it was first released, it was well received by foreign media, and when there were resources in China, it was also well received on the Internet. But I watched it at the beginning and it was delayed because of other things, and then it was released for half a year. I just watched it today, it's really good, it should be the best hungry horror movie last year. The details of the movie are very good, and the use of all kinds of close-up hints, lines and even shooting techniques serve the narrative of the movie very well.

Since it's a horror movie, of course we need to talk about how scary it is. It has to be said that the creation of the horror effect of the movie is also very clever, getting rid of the low-level and efficient scaring methods that are commonly used in this type of movie to frighten the sound effects and suddenly turn around to kill. Its horror is divided into two aspects: one is the horror of being caught off guard. When the movie makes you enter an emotional state by creating a foreshadowing of various details, the sudden reversal of the plot at this time makes you startle and accompany the characters. . But this kind of fright does not have the usual routine of horror movies and all kinds of sudden sound effects to make you scare you. It's just the ordinary ambient sound that makes you shiver. This is the plot to scare you, not the sound effects to scare you. Another way to be scary, a bit like a Hitchcock thriller, is to create an asymmetric informational relationship that keeps the audience anxiously waiting for the protagonist to be frightened or about to suffer. This method is used more in the ending of the film. You know that there is something behind the protagonist, but the protagonist does not know. You are very afraid of when the protagonist will be frightened. Wait, wait, maybe nothing happens in the end. It's the horror of this anxiety. It's really scary to know that something is going to happen but wait for it.

In terms of plot design, the title of the film has already hinted a lot that Hereditary has hereditary and hereditary meanings. The story of the film is indeed a story of "qualification". I won't give any spoilers, otherwise it would look boring. But the establishment phase of the film is indeed a bit long, and in the first half hour, except for the various illogical dialogues and interpersonal relationships that fill you with confusion, you have absolutely no sense that this is a horror movie. After half an hour, the plot is finished, and all kinds of snarky plots start to bring you to the stunned plot. At this point, the wait was worth the price.

In the use of photography techniques, the film is also very distinctive. The use of various tilt-shift photography for the long shot makes it feel like the whole movie takes place in a model house. Indoor scenes are also shot in a variety of near-box perspectives. It feels like the characters are toys, and there is a pair of invisible hands that are directing it all. They can't escape the script that has been designed. And the story presented at the end of the movie is indeed like this. This way of photography and serving the plot also leaves a different label for the movie itself.

Lastly, love the horror movie recommendation, but be patient it's worth the wait. Some scenes in the movie are bloody and direct, and you should be cautious about being dizzy and afraid of nausea. But don't worry, there are only two or three disgusting scenes. After all, this is not the selling point of this film.

In addition, this is the first feature film of director Ali Astor, who is also a screenwriter. Really talented, I look forward to his next movie "Midsommer Midsummer Night's Fright (no official translation for the time being)" is also his screenwriter and director.
