To get out of grief, you can only repay grievances with virtue.

I didn't watch this movie with great expectations, but I was still moved by Nicole Kidman. After a woman is no longer young, if she can still be remembered with admiration, she probably cares about her inner temperament.

The heroine said that the Kurdish people living in ancient African tribes believed that
to get out of their grief, they could only repay their grievances with virtue.

She narrated her cruel past, with unbearable memories and a calmness of self-consolation.

Haha, after all, what is intolerable is not to plunder all the time, but to take back all of them after they have been given.

I remember the high school English teacher told us that he said that sometimes, God is like this. The more you have, the more he has to give; the less you have, the more he deprives him.

Um. Life is not always fair.
To be free from grief, kindness is indispensable.
As the heroine said, "Vengeance does not alleviate grief" right?

Another little insight about the movie.
There are things that others don't want to say, and we tend to be wise to lie to others.

How real is this world?
The heart is aware, is it right?

The Interpreter quotes

  • Asian Interpreter: Ladies and gentlemen, the situation in Matobo has now become critical. With Ajene Xola in hiding and Kuman-Kuman in exile, Edmond Zuwanie has few domestic obstacles to his policy of ethnic cleansing. The Security Council must therefore press for his immediate referral to the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

  • Jonathan Williams: Which language?

Silvia Broome: The Matoban Ambassador. He'll be speaking Ku.

    Silvia Broome: Ku?

Jonathan Williams: You speak the language, don't you?
