Rewatching this film yesterday, I not only found out how the existence of Mushu is a kind of brilliance, but also how annoying the existence of the male protagonist Li Xiang.
Later, Mulan relied on her resourcefulness to create an avalanche to almost wipe out Shanyu's troops, and even saved Li Xiang's life. Later, Li Xiang found out that Mulan was a woman, and it was a reasonable move not to kill her. Jian went to the emperor to receive the reward, and even though his expression was embarrassed, he did not intend to say that he was not the hero at all, but Mulan was!
If it wasn't for the surviving Shan Yu taking the remnants of the defeated generals to kidnap the emperor, and Mulan desperately trying to save people, no one would know that Mulan is a true hero.
I hope the live-action version of Mulan will adjust the male protagonist's role, otherwise such a male protagonist is really annoying, not only highlights Mulan's character, but also emotionally unworthy of Mulan.
