1998 / USA / Animated Adventure Drama / Barry Cook, Tony Bancroft / Mingna Wen, Eddie Murphy

In the movie Mulan, grandma is a very cute character:

1) Trust the lucky cricket and cross the road with the cricket cage in hand.

2) When her parents didn't let Mulan go out to read the decree, she coughed and pointed to the wall, signaling Mulan to peek from there. 3) During the meal, I saw that Mulan wanted to persuade her father to stop talking, but she did not stop her. 4) Joking that Mulan should bring a man back, she wants to go to war, and then bring a man back

Except for some errors in the understanding of Chinese culture, the production of this film is excellent.

I deliberately review it again. This animated movie has such a bright narrative rhythm, smooth performance effects, distinctive character modeling, normal behavior logic, and clues foreshadowing. It is worthy of my five-star recommendation. All this proves that Disney has been regressing in the past two decades. The more I realize the excellence of animation, the more I feel that the live-action version next door gave me a shit.

Mulan quotes

  • Fa Li: I should have prayed to the ancestors for luck.

Grandmother Fa: How lucky can they be? They're dead. Besides, I've got all the luck we'll need.

    [to Cri-Kee]

Grandmother Fa: This is your chance to prove yourself.

  • Mulan: [Mulan and Mushu escape back to shore from Yao, Ling, and Chin-Po] Boy, that was close.

    Mushu: No...

Mushu: [brushes his teeth] That was vile! You owe me big.

[Mushu squirts more toothpaste in his mouth and brushes again]

Mulan: I never want to see a naked man again.

[a big group of naked men run past them, laughing]

Mushu: Hey, don't look at me, I ain't biting no more butts.
