the world has no end

-We want freedom! We want to do whatever we want! We want to get drunk and have a good time, that's what we are, we want to have a good time!

Like said, go play with this fucking painless world.

The movie begins when Gary King recalls the day he and his friends graduated 20 years ago. A group of teenagers walked towards the camera with windbreakers and flying jackets. The corners of their eyes and brows showed the arrogance and unruliness of the young and frivolous. The whole world trembled at their feet, they were like the king of the world.

Perhaps the end of every youth requires a spree, and Gary King's coveted climax is at "the end of the world." On the way of the booze marathon, five people madly drove the car called "The Beast", the young hearts throbbed like a wild beast, they screamed, they drank, they took drugs, they fought, they picked up girls and then turned around and dumped now; they laugh and scold, cause trouble, have fun, do all the absurdities of their youth with alcohol or marijuana or whatever, and can't wait to roar into this new and fascinating world to prove its existence.

It was a farewell party belonging to youth, Gary took it so seriously and reverently, almost obsessive, when he fell on the grass and looked at the dawn sun breaking through the horizon in the distance, his eyes twinkled Unknown water light, now this moment has faded away and only the truth of Chicheng is left, just as Gary King has always run through the narration: I know in my heart that life will never be as wonderful as this moment.

Then, a word became a prophecy.

The camera suddenly turned to Gary, who was sitting in a psychiatric nursing home 20 years later. He still smiled as if he didn't care about anything. Everything he said was as cheerful and unrestrained as a galloping colt, but in the end, the wild horse fell and broke. The neck stopped abruptly. "You know what? It's true." Gary spread his hands, helpless.

Failing to reach the end of the world has long become a demon of Gary's heart. Maybe everyone has used their own ways to pursue and explore freedom in their youth, eager to shed blood for the truth of their dreams, even if they are nothing in the eyes of others. The truth of value, how many people still slammed into the unknown result regardless, almost a magical barrier, but in the end, only a few will always retain their original beliefs.

So when Gary finds his clothes in a messy room, when he takes great pains to reunite with his old friends, when the six-man group is again domineering and walking down the avenue of Newtonhaven, I can't believe it. Not surprisingly, Gary was handsome with blood on his face. In the universal values, Gary is undoubtedly the most miserable, just as his black clothes are especially out of place under the suits and leather shoes of his old friends. The dense wrinkles at the corners of Gary's eyes remind me all the time that this guy is no longer the high-spirited teenager he was many years ago, but it's like stepping back in time. All similar plots are shuffled and re-interpreted in front of me. I can't help it. Sigh, this TMD youth sacrifice 20 years late, but only for Gary Fucking King alone.

The indifference and perfunctory of the old friends, like trying to accompany Gary once more with formulaic politeness, is ironic compared to Gary's high-spirited enthusiasm and commitment. The other four undoubtedly represent a certain category of people in the adult world, who have started a family, have children, and lived a happy life like the standard answer—a boring life. Gary is a symbolic incarnation of old ideals. Ideals and reality can never be compromised, so he is even isolated and ostracized by his old friends. Everyone else obeys the rules of this society's fucking game and becomes an "empty shell". , he was still scratching his neck and shouting: "Nooo!" Compromising with life does not mean that we are cowardly, but the one who refuses mediocre life is definitely a real man. To be honest, I would be jealous of this kind of person in all kinds of ways but not hate it. I've always thought the world needed some weird weirdo, or it would be boring.

This movie isn't a complete comedy, on the contrary, for the first time in a Simon Pegg movie, I felt pricked, and in several places. What impressed me the most was the scene where Gary collapsed on the floor of the last bar, crying unwillingly and aggrieved, saying "I don't wanna be sober!" At the end of the TAT

, although Gary didn't drink the last glass of wine, fortunately, he didn't stop, and he regained his strength and set off to wander the world with a group of young friends to live his happy and adventurous life. Perhaps there is a kind of innocence that will not grow old with the years. Well I firmly believe not.

If I could, I would also like to be another Gary Fucking King , my king .
