The extras who play the militia in the film have all learned to march and wear military uniforms. Emma Thompson worked on the adaptation of the screenplay and appears in the credits at the end of the credits. During filming, Keira Knightley started getting ready to star in Domino's and had her hair cut short. In the final weeks of filming, Knightley had to wear a wig and long-sleeved clothing to cover his increasingly defined muscles. Penelope Wilton also starred in "Match Point" and the TV series "Doctor Who" alongside the film. The film was shot almost entirely on location, except for the ball venue where Darcy and Bingley made their first appearances, because that kind of party room no longer exists in the UK.
