Kingdom of Heaven's director's cut is arguably the most epic film I've ever seen. It was a miracle for me that I didn't urinate during the three-hour viewing process. In the film, the strength and helplessness of the Leprosy King, Saladin's kindness, Balian's reflection on faith, and many supporting roles with distinctive personalities are all very moving and touch your heart.
We despise the narrow-mindedness and ignorance of Christianity a hundred years ago, and admire the kindness and tolerance of King Leper and Saladin. But history has made a big joke. A hundred years later, Christianity has become inclusive after countless reforms, while Islam has become closed and reversed. It has to be said that history is a spiral of repetition. Similar, but not the same.
If God abandons us, then we save ourselves! This is AD1187, this is Jerusalem, this is, the Kingdom of Heaven.
