As a commercial film, a superhero film, and a Hollywood visual blockbuster, I think it is perfect, and I give it full marks. I also strongly recommend everyone to watch it.
why? I think there are the following advantages.
The director has made a new idea for the Superman series of movies. The point of the film is not to describe how he saves the world, but to depict his love life. The love between him and Louise. The choreographer used a very large space to describe Louise's thoughts about him, her feelings after leaving, and her ambivalence about his return. The whole film revolves around this theme. Saving the world is nothing but a routine task for Superman.
Secondly, this is a qualified Hollywood production. Effects didn't say. It is not a little bit stronger than the four Superman movies I watched earlier. The gap between them can be said that one is the Stone Age, and the other is the time span of the 21st century. And the rhythm of the special effects is also better. That is to say, there is no abuse of special effects, but when it should appear at the right time, it will not feel that this is a blockbuster full of various special effects without connotation.
Third, it has successfully undertaken the relationship between the first four films, continued the previous stories well, and made a perfect preparation for future stories. Those who have watched the first four films can find a lot, borrowing various details from the previous four films, such as the subtitles at the beginning, the scene of Superman flying into space at the end, the dialogue of the big villain, the personal habits of each character, and so on. This is also a tribute.
Fourth, the rhythm of this film is very well mastered. With a length of 150 minutes, the process of watching the film did not feel very long, which proved that I was very involved in the film, and the film also captured the hearts of the audience. The rhythm is relaxed, the lyrical lyricism, the fighting when it is time to fight, and the tension when it is time to create tension, just right.
Fifth, the actors perform well. As a visual blockbuster, the requirements for actors are not high. But several actors did their due diligence. Unlike the first four, the way of acting is too exaggerated. The performances in this film are very lifelike and very real. Especially Louise and our best actor Kevin Spacey, very good. One reveals the truth, and the other is bad to the core. The only downside is that Louise's actor is too young to be a mother.
Sixth, the music fits the plot very well. Mainly based on orchestral music, it is majestic and the rhythm is soothing. It fits well with the somewhat tragic plot.
Having said so many advantages, it seems that there are no disadvantages? Hehe, I just finished watching it, and I am still immersed in the atmosphere of the film. For the time being, I can only see the advantages. Maybe later, I will find the shortcomings.
The above are my own personal views. Comparing the first four Superman movies, this one is the best one. But when it comes to making old films and making superhero films in their own style, this one is not enough, and it is even better than Christopher Nolan's two "Batman" films.
