"Dune" is just a poor knockoff

After watching the dunes, look back at Lawrence of Arabia again, the dunes are so boring. It can even be said that it is a 21st century nonsense after only adding special effects. The original should have also received the influence of this film.

But on the other hand, it can also be seen that the era of filming was the era when the United States expelled the British and French forces from the Middle East, so the tendency of expression is very obvious. The British and the French are so shameless (it's a fact) that the Americans (journalists) stand for freedom, hope, and to send it all back to America.

Although it was an epic film that swept the seven Oscars in 1962, it was hard to impress me. The plot is mostly adapted from the real life of Lawrence, the photography is very good, the endless yellow sand and starry sky are beautiful, and there is passionate music. Perhaps Lawrence in this film is too talented, peaceful and transcendent, and able to go forward in order to give freedom to foreign people, a little bit out of mortals. (8.0/10)

Dressed in a holy robe, he led his followers out of the crowded military uniforms, like Moses leading the congregation to separate the Red Sea. Everything is lonely, everything is beyond language, and do you guess that the prophet will have a moment of commitment to nothingness. Big screen, a dream.

Lawrence of Arabia quotes

  • Bartender: [Lawrence enters the British officers' club with a Bedouin companion after capturing Aqaba, both men utterly exhausted and disheveled, and wearing Arab clothing] This is a bar for British officers!

T.E. Lawrence: That's all right. We're not particular.

  • T.E. Lawrence: A thousand Arabs means a thousand knives, delivered anywhere day or night. It means a thousand camels. That means a thousand packs of high explosives and a thousand crack rifles. We can cross Arabia while Johnny Turk is still turning round, and smash his railways. And while he's mending them, I'll smash them somewhere else. In thirteen weeks, I can have Arabia in chaos.
