war is peace

I believe that friends who have read "1984" will not be unfamiliar with this title, but after reading this novel and watching this "Starship Troopers", the feeling is completely different.

This movie has the best interpretation of the title sentence among the sci-fi movies I have ever seen.

I have a bad problem with people who like to compare. Take the 2012 edition of Total Recall as an example, and I'm just talking about its political stability. One man, one living man, ruled the entire planet, and then he died, and the people of the planet were free, what nonsense!

What is stable politics? It's the death of a carload of rulers, and then there's still the upper class, the oppressor, the lower class, it's just that a few lower classes become middle class or even upper class, or some middle class becomes upper class, and then kick the rest Going down, the interstellar marshal was declared dead in the third part of the film, and then another commander naturally took the scepter. I believe that if the black commander exposed the commander's conspiracy, it would just be another leader. It will change, the policy will not change, and the change of power has nothing to do with the soldiers who fought in the war and the people in the city. Even if someone discovers all this, they will be hanged like the last leader of the opposition. This is stable politics.

The problem is again, this stable politics can only happen under special conditions. That's right, it's a war. Without a foreign war, where would the internal unity come from? If you want to oppose it, you only need to say that you traitors are zombies parasitized by Zerg, sent to destroy human beings, and shoot them directly. And also in "1984", the country is also in a state of surprising unity, why? Because the shells are thrown around every day, who can protect us, the government! Can we oppose him?

This is how the three major countries reached a consensus. We are fighting, we will fight with you today, and we will fight with him tomorrow, but we can't stop. At the end of "Starship Troopers", the most ironic sentence did not appear: the war is not over, yes, the war There will be no end, the Zerg will never be wiped out, and as long as humans and Zerg reach a balance, politics will never collapse.

In fact, thinking of today's reality, why not? The so-called Diaoyu Islands, Bamboo (Independence) Islands, and even the first island chain are not meant to tell us that we have enemies. You see, if there is no unity in the country, then what are you going to fight over, you will ride to our heads. The unity of China, the United States and Russia in "watchman" is ultimately based on an enemy stronger than them combined. The enemy is the reason for our unity.

I've talked so much in a mess, and my writing is really not good. I'm very grateful to be able to see it.

Starship Troopers quotes

  • [as the unloading of Mobile Infantry from the starfleet continues, one transport is hit and destroyed by planetary bug plasma energy fire as hundreds of plasma energy bolts are flying all around the starfleet]

Captain Deladier: This isn't random or light. Someone made a mistake.

Zander: That's it. Drop status is 100%. We're empty, ma'am.

[suddenly in front of them, a starship's starboard engines are hit by plasma energy fire. Captain Deladier, Carmen and Zander look in horror as the ship veers off course and crashes into another starship, setting both afire]

Captain Deladier: Someone made a BIG goddamn mistake! Break for high orbit! Evasive action, now!

  • Carl: So you haven't done it yet, have you? Don't lie!

Johnny Rico: I'm not in any hurry.

Carl: [Indicating Dizzy Flores] Others are waiting.

Johnny Rico: [Looking at Dizzy] Did you read her mind?

Carl: Don't have to. It's pretty clear what she wants.

Johnny Rico: Yeah, but I want Carmen.

Carl: Oh, you got it bad!
