In this film, the Irish Republican Army is excusable; the British government’s face is annoying. They have no sincerity, kill innocent people indiscriminately, and do nothing more noble than terrorists. It seems that the Americans cannot be blamed for being anti-China and supporting this independence and that independence, and they have not been so friendly to their own brothers, the British. Of course, the film was released in 1997, before 9/11. Some people say that after 9/11, the United States will never have this attitude toward terrorists again. However, I think that handsome and beautiful Northern Irish men and women who are also white Christians are easier to agree with than the uncle bin Laden who believes in Allah.
Who is the "devil" mentioned in the title? The metaphor of the film is very obvious. The devil is obviously not Brad Pitt's handsome and innocent-looking but blood-stained member of the Irish Republican Army. Is it the hatred of "when is it time to repay the injustice?" However, this matter cannot be resolved by meeting and smiling. Pete said to the American policeman played by Harrison Ford: "This is not an American story. There will be no happy ending." However, the Americans are always naive: "You put down the gun and no one will die." If I were Pete. Replying to him: "This matter did not start with me, and it will not end with me." As a commercial film, it is not particularly good-looking. If it weren't for Harrison Ford and Brad Pitt fans, I would probably find it boring. Pete started with a scary beard, but fortunately he quickly shaved off his beard and restored his handsome appearance. It is more interesting to work hard to learn the Irish accent. A lot of Ford's plays feel like they are added for the sake of veteran movie stars. Pete was so handsome when he single-handedly grabbed the missile. But the biggest question in the plot is: Why does Pete live in Ford's house? The Irish Republican Army is not like being poor. If you rent a house to Pete alone, the whole story will not happen...
