"This is the day that you'll always remember this as the day that you almost caught Captain Jack Sparrow."
By chance, I went to the cinema with a friend to watch "Pirates of the Caribbean 5 Dead Men Tell No Tales", and after returning home, I re-watched all the previous four films.
The magical nautical compass, the Black Pearl, rum, the sea, sailing adventures again and again... It seems to have become the standard of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series. Of course, there are also Jack Sparrow and his friends.
"Wherever we want to go, we go. That's what a ship is you know? It's not just a keel and a deck and sail. That's what a ship is, what the Black Pearl really is, is freedom."
I'll have the whole ocean, the whole world, where I want to go, that's what a ship is. A ship is more than just a keel, a hull, a deck, and a few Necessary sails. The true meaning of a ship, the true meaning of the Black Pearl, is freedom.
Starting from "The Curse of the Black Pearl", "The Treasure of the Undead", "The End of the World", "The Stormy Tide", and "Dead Men Tell No Tales" each contain a lot of interesting truths.
For example, in the final scene of "Tough Tides", against the backdrop of the setting sun, Jack's first mate Gibbs asked him "You have the Holy Grail, the spring water and the tears of the merman, which could have been immortal..."
But Jack told him with a calm smile that this was the test of the Fountain of Youth.
"It's better not to know when you're going to die, so you're always exploring the mysteries of life. Who says I can't live forever? But I like being a pirate."
For another example, I vaguely remember that there are probably a few lines of dialogue in "Death Without Contradictions":
"I don't want to cause trouble"
"Then what's the point of you being alive?"
"Ships that don't go through the storm will never catch up to the Black Pearl, and those who don't brave will sink to the bottom of the sea."
Jack has the soul of a poet who yearns for freedom, he is free and easy without losing his demeanor.
Only the sea can match his rebelliousness.
He is a heinous pirate, so he loves gold and silver treasures.
He's Jack Sparroe, so his greatest treasure is actually the sea.
When he was back on the Black Pearl holding the mast, he said to the crew who asked where he was going now,
I'm going on a date with my favorite horizon.
Sometimes, I hope we can live like a pirate. Free and unrestrained, standing on a high mast, facing the stormy waves and stepping on the waves, taking the stars and the sea as a journey, and going to the favorite horizon for a date.
