This is a good commercial film. Buying two tickets and holding popcorn with my girlfriend is enough to spend the weekend. I'm glad I haven't read the original, otherwise I'd hate it like a lot of people here.

As someone who hasn't read the original novel to pass the boring time, I think the movie is well done. For example, the selfless sacrifice of the Pope's Chamberlain to save others--of course, I later learned that he had no intention of dying at all, the big fireworks in the sky--the movie's imaginative production of the explosion of antimatter, and the final scene where the Pope accepted the cheers of the people for me impact.
