Religion is very complicated, and Dan probably knows that it doesn't do any good to get an inch out of it, so we see this film that has changed beyond recognition. The success of "Da Vinci" made the company see the opportunity to make money, so A&D as a prequel will definitely be put on the shooting schedule. But the company does not want to further intensify the conflict with the Vatican. And the result: we saw a lot of shrinking of the big plot, followed by something more confusing than Da Vinci and an ending that made me laugh and laugh.
I feel like I'm being fooled by this movie, and the audience is being fooled like an idiot. For movies, a certain amount of compression is for sure, but you can't change the main line. Fortunately, the audience now is discerning. A&D only narrowly beat Interstellar at the box office last week. It seems that it is not only us who are disappointed.
