Let the love end before sunrise

Selena, a girl studying at the University of Paris, went to Budapest to visit her sick grandmother. On the way back, she met Jesse, a young American who had just lost her love. After a pleasant chat, the train stopped in Vienna. This is the place where Jesse got off. At the invitation of Selena, Selena also got off the train and went to chat with him, go shopping, or spend an unplanned day.

Two people chatting with strangers on the road, talking and playing truth games on the bus, listening to music in a record store, going to an unnamed cemetery to reminisce about childhood, kissing on a Ferris wheel, reading palms in a night market, going to church to rest and chat, chance encounters Young people who write poetry and beg, listen to songs, drink and play pinball in bars, play phone games in restaurants, roll sheets on the grass, and finally kiss goodbye on the train platform in the early morning.

If this is all, it seems to be just a literary affair story, but in fact, what connects two people, or makes them attractive to each other, is not eager for sexual or physical relationship, but just like chatting with each other. The content of their chat is sometimes solemn, such as the relationship between the sexes; sometimes absurd, such as exposing each other's love history. Jesse's wit and humor and Selena's wisdom and cuteness deeply attracted each other. What's more interesting is that they are not without arguments. For example, they have completely different beliefs about reincarnation. Jesse, who is obviously atheist, can act like a "fighting rooster" to an old lady who reads palms, and Selena can suddenly say "f**king" on a quiet night, on the fresh grass. Seeing this, you can probably understand that what really connects them is actually the sincerity and trust between people.

The movie has a lot of classic dialogue, in their aimless blurbs. What I like is that when they discuss the relationship between the sexes, Jesse makes this assertion: Feminism is initiated by men. The verses created by the begging poet with "milkshake" are also impressive. At the same time, the performance of the characters in the details is also in place: the two people are listening to the small space of the record store, the lingering music and the ambiguous expressions of the two people...

In addition, the artistic atmosphere of Vienna also adds a lot to the film, and the empty streets , lively night markets, sacred churches, quiet nights, plus the German and French interspersed in the plot, and the often mentioned Paris, Budapest and other famous cities that have become romantic symbols, adding a romantic atmosphere to the film.

Of course, this movie is not perfect, and I have been looking forward to a slightly regrettable ending during the viewing process. For example, two people said goodbye at the station, and until the train started to move away, the two finally made up their minds to leave each other's contact information, or they shouted loudly when they wanted to agree on a place to meet next time, but after all, they didn't hear what the other party was saying. But the movie gave an ending that, in my opinion, was for the purpose of making a sequel, and the two made an appointment to meet after half a year. Although the real sequel is nine years later.

I was also dissatisfied with the scene in the grass. I thought if it were me, I would arrange that the two would never have a relationship from beginning to end, but I really forgot that this was an American movie. Fortunately, the movie does not have too many shots to describe the entanglement of the two, but only briefly.

When the morning came, Jesse took Selena's hand and said, I'm back to reality again. In fact, the movie also used 100 minutes to create a dream about escape for all modern people living in the complex and noisy world. Whether it's Jesse, who is broken-hearted, or Selena, who wants to become a strong woman, they just take this unexpected day as an opportunity to escape from the world. They behaved so unrestrainedly in the dream, but after waking up, they became ordinary people, ordinary people who will regret and miss. Maybe that's what travel is all about.

The title of the article is the translation of another movie, the name of another song, and 223's self-talk in "Chongqing Forest". It's not a bad idea to describe this movie.
