However, this is actually a very rich movie. Its connotation is so rich, compared with it, the "Wave" I watched before seems very flimsy.
The main scene of the film centers on a large supermarket surrounded by fog and monsters. This is obviously not the purpose of the director to reduce costs, just like "Crazy Stone". This simple big supermarket exists to construct an idealized space: isolation, terror, helplessness. The space is so simple, like a petri dish, the vessel itself does not attract us too much attention. Our focus is directed precisely and centrally to the performance of people in this space.
This is not a horror film, this is a film about human nature. Just like a physical experiment, an idealized space is constructed in which people's every move is displayed.
Physical experiments have control samples. In this human nature experiment, the control samples are people in normal life, people before the monster was discovered. Everyone is kind to each other, takes care of each other, greets each other politely, and everyone is abiding by the rules of the game in this civilized society. Everyone has reason, integrity and warmth. In the words of the film, it is when you "still get through 911". This short but necessary existence has been echoed again and again in the subsequent development of the plot.
Now that the experimental samples are here, the fog is suddenly surrounded, the blood is inexplicable, and the story about the elements of terror. The greatest fear of human beings comes from the unknown, from the darkness in front of us. The fog cuts off your vision, and the strange sound stimulates your sense of sound. It is completely isolated. "The moment when you can't get through 911." Bosses, clerks, soldiers, granny, believers, workers, etc. in the supermarket, all kinds of people gathered here and started their own survival.
Anyone who has seen "Titanic" will admire the men's care for women and children in distress. And this movie is embarrassing, in the face of fear, no one wants to accompany a mother to take care of her son. The scariest thing is death, no, the horror of the unknown. In the storage bin, young people try to prove themselves, workers go their own way with disdain and rejection of college students, and instinctively escape and deny after causing death. When people face threats, they resist reality and deceive themselves. And so on, the film shows human nature from all angles through dozens of people in the supermarket, and the details are staged in turn, making people overwhelmed.
What is most striking, however, is the power of religion at this time. Religion, politics, the two have something in common. One could even say that a politics that has gained widespread support and fanaticism has become, to some extent, a religion. A devout believer, deeply convinced of the teachings, gradually attracted almost all the people around him with his piety, enthusiasm, and obsession during this crisis. No eloquence? Look at how eloquent she is. That's not eloquence, it's a natural revelation in a situation of great devotion and devotion to the faith. What really moves people is not the "flickering", but the self-absorbed input and belief of the speaker. That's why Hitler has a crowd. At the same time, just like Hitler's own conditions were not enough, Germany before World War II had deep national humiliation, economic recession, and extremely squeezed living space. The external environment was also a key factor that pushed people to lose their minds. After a series of frights, and after the spread of helplessness, people began to believe the teachings they had previously dismissed and disregarded, and became more and more fanatical. Perhaps it is human nature. When human beings are in a desperate situation, they often turn to religion for solace.
And when a group goes crazy, you don't treat them as people. "The Rabble" and "The Age of the Rogue" have clearly explained that they are irrational and ignorant of civilization. They either become a mob or act according to a certain will. We saw the latter in the film, the devout believer, who became the soul, brain, and commander of this group. Things that would not happen in a rational situation just hit our vision one by one. Those who do not follow our beliefs, those who do not follow our command are our enemies. There is no need for extra procedures, as long as an illusory charge is placed, an innocent person can be put to death. For our teachings, for our beliefs, whatever we do is right and beyond question. Our purpose was redemption, our purpose was to deliver, and what we did was to kill a child without feeling anything wrong. The "noble" of the goal can make us ignore the "cruel" and "despicable" of the means.
Does it feel familiar? Have you ever felt the terror running through your back?
The ending of the film is another shocking plot. When I saw this part, I felt like I was slapped hard by fate in my life: Do you really think that life will develop as you think? Naive to make ah! At this point, what we need to worry about is whether it is better to stay in the supermarket or to stand out. In hindsight Zhuge Liang had nothing to boast about. We should not be discouraged and say that being conservative is a blessing, being cowardly is luck, doing nothing and everything will be fine, just shrink back and live a peaceful life. What we need to know is that even if you are brave, even if you are wise, even if you are thoughtful, even if you are detached, you may still not be able to achieve what you want.
An ancient Chinese saying: Do your best and obey the destiny. Faraday said: Work hard for success, but don't expect success. It's all about the same thing.
So, don't say that this movie or anything has subverted your life, I don't believe in XX's any more. Then we have our own reasons to despise ourselves.
Finally, take the sugar and say: Mist is a good movie, I recommend everyone to watch it. Live a good life and watch life.
