A good gangster movie

Pacino and Depp's performances are both good, especially the thug who is old and unwilling but loves to show off his seniority. The role content is extremely rich, and Pacino's performance is well-defined. The story of this film is rooted in the real experience of an undercover police detective, and the screenwriter's adaptation skills are quite high. The interesting thing is that the director is the British Newell who has just directed Four Wedding and One Funeral. The styles of the two films are completely different. This film is often compared to Scorcese's Good Fellas, but I think there is still a gap between the two films. In the film, the technique used to sway the audience's nervousness is successful, but the number of times is too many. There are traces of stereotypes in the figures and some bridges. All in all, it's quite worth watching, and fans who like gangster movies or two big stars should not miss it.

Donnie Brasco quotes

  • Lefty: [sees the front page of a newspaper documenting another crime boss was murdered, to Donnie while in his car] I never hear from my boss until he dies, then my whole life gets turned upside down!

  • Donnie Brasco: [to Maggie in their garage] If I come out alive, this guy, Lefty, ends up dead. That's the same thing as me putting the bullet in his head myself.
