this little man

The first time I met Al Pacino was in The Devil's Advocate, and of course I watched it for Keanu. To be honest, I didn't like the overly dramatic performance of the old Pacino chatter, although I admit that he made the film.
This little man can steal anyone's limelight. Men taller than him and younger than him are all white faces without beards in front of him (not just literally), he is the sexiest man .
But Lao Pa in "The Faithful Traitor" is just a small gang leader, as if he has only one subordinate, and he is still an undercover agent. Lefty is hunchbacked, wordy, not cruel enough, has low self-esteem and conceit, has never been promoted, loves watching TV, seeks male experience from the animal world (probably also his youth), he loves family (typical Sicilian man) , It's a pity that the divorced son is taking drugs... I almost thought this was a film about a midlife crisis.
But he is Al Pacino after all, that kind of unsatisfactory loneliness but unwilling to show it just through the corners of his eyes and mouth, and the Sicilian nagging is so natural. Before finally going to die, saying goodbye, exhorting and making arrangements with his wife is as usual but very tense.
This little man, he is a god.

Donnie Brasco quotes

  • Lefty: [sees the front page of a newspaper documenting another crime boss was murdered, to Donnie while in his car] I never hear from my boss until he dies, then my whole life gets turned upside down!

  • Donnie Brasco: [to Maggie in their garage] If I come out alive, this guy, Lefty, ends up dead. That's the same thing as me putting the bullet in his head myself.
