A good film with a good atmosphere

Personally, I think the first half of the film is a little longer, and the biggest highlight is in the second half. The film's description of the spiritual world has a steam-age atmosphere, which is very similar to the style of Wen's "Dead Silence". The arrangement of the ghost world scenes can highlight the director's good intentions: a strange story has a strange world. The image of DEMON is a major feature. At first glance, it has the feeling of an indigenous wizard. This is especially true in DEMON's residence. The red silk and satin, the gramophone and the Chinese-style copper horse are incompatible with each other, giving the audience a strange feeling.
The soundtrack also follows the style of the steam era, from the whistle that JOSH heard in the supernatural world to the phonograph that DEMON listened to. The director wants to use this great contrast to create a difference between the real world and the supernatural world. The person and his admiration for JOSH's image in the spiritual world, the characters have a faint blue light, giving people a similar but different feeling to Silent Hill.
But the subject matter of Borrowing the Dead is still a bit boring. Because there is an ending like "Master Key" first, the theme of reversal is not prominent. All in all, this is a very good horror movie. James Wen's strength is still unquestionable.

  • Dr. Sercarz: [about Dalton] There is no brain damage that we've detected. Technically, yes, he's in a coma. He doesn't react to stimuli. He has no sleep-wake cycle. But there's no brain trauma or infection. His scans are all normal. To be honest, I've never seen anything like it.
