Today I challenged another horror film --- Lurk by James Wen
I was very resistant at first, but after repeated persuasion by Brother Lu, I decided to watch it. This time, it has improved a lot compared to the previous one. I only screamed twice in the whole film, and there are some parts that are actually quite scary. I am very calm, inexplicable hhh, probably I'm a little braver.
In fact, horror films and thrillers are really very clear boundaries between what is good and what is bad, and you don't need too much artistic appreciation to be able to distinguish them well. Of course, it's a good movie.
The first is that the plot is not conventional and novel. It is the theme of a horror movie, but it also adds the warmth of the family, and it is not the kind of pure horror and scary. It is interspersed with plots. Every ghost or monster has its meaning.
The second is the shooting method. The director's use of the camera is really awesome! The right angles and obstructions, as well as the sway of the lens, create a different perspective, as if it were a monster's perspective, which makes people shudder. Several times I thought the protagonist would be horrified when I turned and cut to the protagonist's face because I saw the monster.
I always thought that James Wen was a foreign director, but later found out that he is of Chinese Canadian origin. When I watched the film before, I felt that there are actually many places in Manchu that have a Chinese flavor, such as the image of ghost, but it is not like a foreign vampire, but more like an ancient Chinese monster. There are still some incomprehensible feelings, I really didn't know it was Chinese before I saw it.
Probably just these messy feelings.
The second time I watched a horror movie, in fact, if someone accompanied me, I felt that watching a horror movie could learn more.
