An awkward hymn!

The theme of the story is good, but Will's acting skills are not worth talking about.
But for a movie that should have been a heavyweight, this movie really can't be considered exciting, maybe just watching the last thirty minutes is enough, and the front narration is mainly immersed in tediousness. Before the final touch, even a ten-minute shot can pave the way!
There are comments that this film is hypocritical, I think it is a little bit, and for first-line Hollywood directors who are good at storytelling and very rigorous, why must the final emotional sublimation of this film develop into the bed? One is a woman who has only a few weeks left to live with a heart attack, and the other is a man who has just had a bone marrow pump. A man who is determined and looks at everything, knows that his death is coming, and still loves a woman, and directly hugs her to bed regardless of her physical condition? Finally, people who died of jellyfish poisoning in the middle box have damaged heart muscle and nerve structure. Simply put, they can no longer be used for transplantation!
From the first 90 minutes, this is a bland film, but from the last 30 minutes, it is indeed overly hypocritical!
Therefore, although Will is going to perform such a literary film for the Oscars, "Seven Pounds" won nothing at the 81st Oscars, not even a nomination!

Seven Pounds quotes

  • Ezra Turner: [Last lines] You must be Emily. It's so nice to meet you.

  • Ben Thomas: The first time I ever saw a box jellyfish, I was twelve. Our father took us to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I never forgot what he said... That it was the most deadly creature on earth. To me it was just the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen.
